WB's twitter has been blowing up with promotion for this flick. The trailer caught my eye a while back, but it seems like it's getting some great reviews. I think it might actually be coming out in the US next week, so, I'm a little surprised by the lack of a thread for it.

This looks great, can't wait for it to get released here. US release is tomorrow.

Looks good. Will catch this next weekend when it comes out here. I can definitely relate with Jackman's character which always ramps up the emotional attachment.

I watched it today; phenomenal film, but the subject matter is some really heavy stuff. It was a gripping thriller, though. I'd say that about 90% of the time my heart was in my stomach and my fists were clenched. I highly recommend it, though. It's one of the best films I've seen this year; some of the best performances I've seen all year, as well.

Yeah, I want to see this movie too. I saw the cast on "Katie" last week. Altho she (Katie) was totally annoying, the clips looked great.

The film is resonating with me but I am not so sure it is for good reasons. It seemed to have a fair amount of plot holes from what I can see.

Performances are incredible!

Gyllenhaal was exceptional! Jackman, Dano, Bello and Leo give great performaces.

For 3/4 of the film I was hooked, intrigued and enjoying it immensely. I just can't help but feel let down and frustrated with the final act.

Can't fault the bleak, atmospheric cinematography from Roger Deakins.

My unanswered questions.

Was there any real significance in 'the maze'? Was that just to link the characters together? If so that is contrived at best.

Why would Holly Jones (the Aunt) let Barry 'Alex' and Bob Taylor free like that? That was never really explained as far as I could tell. If she was 'waging war on god' as she said, why would she keep them alive and set them free like that?

Just saw this last night and I thought it was excellent. Exceptional acting from everyone involved on this.

It's stuck with me and has had me thinking about it. As soon as I finished it I wanted to rewatch it immediately. Crazy.

Masterpiece.
Villeneuve is gonna become very big.
I had the chance to see the film he s done right after Prisoners, its called ENEMY again with Jake Gylhenhal and its another superb movie.
More esoteric and metaphisical than his previous movies.
Incredibly good and again beautifully shot.
I really cant wait for his next project.
Oh and Check also INCENDIES it won the oscar fr Best foreign movie, very tough hard movie but really really good.
Seriously guys Check ALL of his movies the guy is a genius.

Heisenberg
They gave mazes to the kids and told them if they could do them they would get free. I guess they did not kill all the kids. At first they kept some of them to replace their son.
They raised a few even and let them go. Looks like their modus operandi evolved trough the years and was not always the same.

Im more annoyed by the necklace wich was too obvious and make you connect the dots very early (especially when she says my husband went outside and never came back...) and when in the climax Jackman know what he knows turn his back on her... I was like nooooooo dont do that lol but it was ok just a bit cliche...

I saw this movie the other day.

I'm kinda 'meh' about it, only because I'd read so much praise for it. Maybe you had to have kids for it to resonate with you, but I think I was just expecting a different kind of movie. I don't have anything bad to say about it, but it didn't 'stick' with me.

I was much more entertained by Gravity than Prisoners. When you say 'thriller' I just expect something that has a lot more tense situations, I just wasn't thrilled by anything, like "Oh no, how's he going to get out of this one?"

Having kids might add to the experience
but i think that the movie is just gorgeous to look at, has some great performances too.
Its not an entertainment flick.
More a drama than a thriller too.
