Okay, I have not seen all the new shows, so I could be wrong. However, after watching the first episode of this new series ( doesn't premiere til Sept. but if you search a 'bit ... it will flood you like a torrent ... yeah, not my most subtle hint I know :D), I am in love with this series.

Quick rundown: Ned has the ability to bring the dead back to life with a touch. However, this "gift" comes with two provisions - a second touch kills the person/ animal forever ... Ned can't bring them back again ... and if that person stays "alive again" for more than a minute, another random person must die in their place. Due to trauma from using his power as a child (I won't ruin this ... but it's an amazing ... and might bring a tear to your eye), Ned has become a neurotic person who avoids emotional attachments for fearing of losing anyone again ... and what he might do if that happened. Chi McBride plays a private detective who accidentally learns about his power and talks him into using it to solve crimes (for money of course ... yeah, nothin' for free :D). I don't want to spoil any of the twists or turns in the 1st episode, but I feel it's one of the best pilots in years. Give it a try.

I watched the pilot at SDCC and I really liked it. It had a very Tim Burton type feel to it, for me at least. Not visually but in the story telling.

I haven't seen it yet (I'll wait for the "official" premiere ;)), but the premise and the Jim Dale narration on the commercials (and from what I understand, the series as well) already has my interest piqued.

I saw the pilot at SDCC and really liked it but I have a feeling it won't do well. I just don't see it being embraced by the mainstream TV viewer audience which is a shame because it's such a charming and bizzare show.

so who is carrying it?

ABC. I think it will get enough critical acclaim to at least get 2 seasons. Of course, it will probably go the Twin Peaks / American Gothic route (had almost forgotten about that one - sigh - a great show killed in its prime). But, we can be hopeful. Maybe we will see a resurgence of the days when quirky shows like Northern Exposure and Quantum Leap could survive 4 to 5 seasons. Jericho has also helped our cause - network are beginning to take DVDR and online broadcast more seriously. Who knows ... we may get a miracle here.

Woah, while web surfing, I noticed that Pushing Daisies was created by Bryan Fuller, who also created Dead Like Me and Wonderfalls. I knew there was a reason I liked this ... those are 2 classics in my book. They were also killed off too early. Dammit ... Fate, it's his turn to have a series LIVE! :D

It will probably be like Arrested Development. A great show, but one with low ratings. Then it will be replaced by some reality tv abortion!

Sigh ... seeing Superbad this weekend (as well as renting the Ex with Jason Bateman this afternoon) reminds me how much I miss Arrested Development. That show in its short lifespan had more "choking from laughin' so f'n hard" moments than any show in the last decade. The rise of reality TV along with the crap that DOES survive on network TV makes the move Idiocracy seem more and more plausible :monkey2

So, the Series Finale aired on Saturday and I'm VERY sorry to see the show go. Apparently, it will continue in Comic form, so at least I'll look out for that.
