QMx gets Firefly and Dr. Horrible license

Announced yesterday at the Serenity con. They also debuted the Mule which is about 1/12th scale and will only come as a pre-painted kit. No price yet.

They plan on doing a lot more animated style maquettes, showed a naked Mal from the Firefly opening.

They also showed the first Dr. Horrible animated style maquette of the Doctor. If you like animated style - it was cool.

They talked about doing animated style maquettes for Star Trek too.

Metal Mal's pistol from Firefly is coming.

Anywy - more seriously: sounds good that this series will get some more stuff released. Inara's shuttle would be nice. To go with Senerity - cool display imo

Guess we will have to keep pushing SS then, tho at least this maybe a good sign, releasing the Firefly license.

Sounds like it'll be pretty cheap--no electronics, and as a kit, but at 1:12 scale it would almost be as big as the Serenity replica.

yeah, hence the reason why I'll pass on it. Still, pretty good news that QMx have the license, will be interesting to see what comes of it all.

The mule is about a foot long. And it will be very cheap (compared to Serenity). Each Serenity requires 47 man hours to put together and that's where the high cost comes from.

The naked Mal is the first shot of the series- like Rodin's Thinker. You won't see anything.

They have the master license for Firefly - so they can do anything and no one else can do anything. They'll be doing t-shirts, possibly weapon replicas, possibly more ships, whatever they can - but not really anything requiring a likeness.

That's a real shame then, since its statues with a very good likeness that I want.

Disappointed that QMX are repeating characters already??
There's still 7 of the crew to make & at $50 a maquette they are quite expensive for a small maquette with very little detail on them.
I was hoping for River or Inara next

Great that goods news, I love these little maquettes. I think it may be the only way to have replica's of the crew. Thanks for the info Darklord
