Hello from Poland

I was reading your forum and became a really fan of action figures. I have a 3 y/o boy and think that when he will be older i gave him all figures which i collect but there is a problem what figures, which brands , where to safe buy them etc please help to begin collecting, sorry for such stupid questions. Waiting for answers. Jarek

Try starting out by browsing through the threads of characters or licenses that you like. Follow the discussions, ask questions and you'll work it out as you go.

By using your toddler son as a part-justification for buying over-priced dolls, you will fit in here fine.

it's a good investment which will provide the kid enough money for college when he grows up.

Find what interests you, don't worry about what appeals to others or how others collect. Are you interested in a particular size? Is it 1/6, 1/4, smaller? Then decide what figures appeal to you. Do you like military, movie, video game figures, female, etc.? There's a variety out there made by many different companies. Don't lock yourself in to buying from just one company. Figure out how much your willing to spend; you may decide companies like Hot Toys and Sideshow are out of your price range. And don't forget there's always kit bashing and customizing your own figures from different parts and pieces (a lot more fun than buying a boxed figure imho). Reading the forums can be informative, particularly when it comes to a figures good and bad qualities, but don't feel you have to get sucked into the fanboy mentality of owning anything, everything by any one particular company. It's an expensive hobby overall, but it's your money, spend it however you want.
