I couldn't find a category to post this under so I apologize if it's in the wrong place. If someone could direct me to where these questions should be posted, I'd appreciate it.

Anyways, in a previous incident, I had an eBay user with a Canadian address listed on their eBay account who tried to pay with their PayPal account with a US address. I had no problem with this but when I tried to Print Shipping Label on eBay, it wouldn't allow me to change the Canadian address associated with that account to the US PayPal account. Nevertheless, the buyer opted to just have it shipped to Canada so that was settled.

I now have a buyer from Taiwan who says they have a friend in the US who will pay via PayPal and I could have it shipped to them to save on shipping costs. I'm concerned that the same situation will happen where eBay won't allow me to change the shipping address again. I messaged him the situation and suggested that their friend bid on the item and I would just cancel the current bid so that price doesn't go up, but they insist that I could ship it to the US address without a problem. Am I going to run into the same problem where eBay will only list the Taiwan address as the destination and not allow a change? How should I deal with the situation?

Thanks in advance!

Some people open ebay accounts while they are in said country and returned/moved to other countries, once they moved they probably canceled their cards and had new cards in new country, some paypal only accept cards from that particular country via that particular paypal region thus those people had to open a new account from another country thus you will see 2 different address.

Ebay doesn't allow users to change their country location, but some can edit their address to the new address & country but the "Country" will still be the original ebay country.

All i know is when buyer pays with Paypal, they can choose the address they want the item shipped to including the country. I'm not sure whether you as a seller will be able to print the new address if the buyer does so, maybe you can advise your buyer to set the paypal address to say Taiwan?

But things do get complicated when buyer A buys on ebay and B pays for it via paypal. It's best to have black and white from both buyer A telling you buyer B is paying, and when B pays, have him write a note on paypal payment that he is paying for buyer A's purchase to avoid any complications and possible fraud. But still you won't be 100% covered.

If A bought the item on ebay, and B paid for it on PayPal and you shipped it to B, as per my understanding the ebay sale will stay "unpaid", can't A pay for the item again on ebay and ask you to send him the item? In that case you will have to send the same item you already shipped to B again to him or he can open a case against you on ebay, right?

I am just being the devil advocate here.

That is why it's important for B to write the correct address to send to, so if B pays & seller sends to B's designated address & name, in this case A, A wouldn't be able to file a claim via ebay as he never paid, and only B can file a case.

That is why i said it's important to have Black & White statements from both A & B just to back yourself up. Ebay will still get their fair share of the day once A marked payment paid on ebay and both parties leaving +ve feedback, while paypal makes an extra on B's payment to A.

I would say seller have to suck up the paypal charges for things not purchased via ebay, unless B can enter the ebay sales code on behalf of A and proceed with the payment.

But still there is a risk of B claiming his account has been misused/card stolen & file for a fraud, in which the money will be returned to B most likely.

i think you should send to the address provided by paypal no matter if the ebay account is registered in kazajastan if paypal payment show you a USA address you should send it there and you are 100% covered by paypal and ebay, not big deal

in the US, ebay has a global shipping program that we can go through to ensure the package is not the seller's liability if lost, stolen or arrives broken. we ship to a US address in kentucky and our liability ends there. the receiving center prepares the package for shipping overseas by filling out the customs and insurance forms, and printing shipping labels for delivery. it's worked out well so far.

one thing i must warn you about is a buyer asking to ship to an alternate address. you're opening yourself up to a scam. no sale is worth losing your item over.

and like flatland says, you should be able to print a label through PP.

but like i said there are many genuine buyers with different ebay & paypal address, because ebay doesn't allow you to change the country in your address while paypal can.

i personally wouldn't take a chance with the different addresses. especially because the items i sell aren't a few bucks...usually hundreds. you must decide if it's a risk that you'd take.

even though the ebayer can't change the country, they can change the rest of the address to make it 90% like paypal address.
