Anyone know of any Comic shops/Collectible shops to buy SSC stuff in the L.A.. area? I just moved here and am trying to find one. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I don't live in Califorina, but when I went to Universal Studios on vacation, there were two collectable shops in the shops outside the entrance. The first had stuff like Star Wars, Hellboy, comics, etc. but no Sideshow stuff. The other store was at the very end and it was kind of like a hot topic, but it DID have Sideshow stuff. Mostly 12" figures, but they did have a 1/4 Hellboy on display. Sorry I don't remember the names, but I just found them window shopping so it shouldn't be too hard to find them. Hope that helps.

I appreciate the reply, Mr. Munch. That's a bit of a drive for me though, as I'm closer to Holllywood. Near Silverlake.
Can anyone else chime in?

Welcome to Hollywood!

It's been awhile since I was in Sherman Oaks, but I believe the Tower in the Gallaria there has the best SSC displays, really eye opening, with a lot of PFs, as well as selling their stuff. It'd be worth calling them first as it has been awhile. Oh, and I always find street parking on the little side street parallel to Sepulveda instead of dealing with getting validation. But that's my personal choice.

I don't know of any Hollywood places. The ones there tend to have second hand stuff, picked over and marked up for tourists.

I think there's one worth checking out in West Hollywood called Golden Apple and it's on Melrose ... about a mile (?) from La Brea. (If you're new to the area check out Pinks hot dogs while you're there.) I think they carry some quality high end stuff but I don't know off hand if any of it's SSC.

There might be a place in Westwood near UCLA. I think Kevin Smith still has his comic book store there and they might be worth checking out or at least calling.

There's a comic book store down Ventura Blvd (East of the Gallaria, back in Sherman Oaks) -- Second Earth or Earth Two or something -- I don't believe they carry any SS in stock but are supposed to be good at special ordering. The one just down the street -- a quarter mile or so. NOT the jap/anime store about a mile down near Borders across from Ahhs. Heavy sales pressure and high mark ups, there.

Wish I could be more helpful.

I don't know of any places in the L.A. area but there is a shop in Santa Monica (on 3rd St. Promenade) that sells some Sideshow items. Puzzle keeper? Puzzle Place? Something like that. Someone mentioned City Walk and yes there is a store there that does sell some Sideshow items as well.

Up in Thousand Oaks theres a cart at the local mall that sells a few LOTR sideshow items as well. Though that would be just a little too far for you.

Puzzle Zoo on the 3rd st Promenade used to carry SSC stuff. They also had a branch at the Century City Westfield, but that closed. Echobase Toys out in Temple City is the only consistant place for 12" figures in the area that I know of.

You don't see markups like that place all too often. :sick :horror :sick :horror

Hey guys,

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. I've been areader here for a long time, and actually was the 1,000th member. But there was some crash here, and I lost my unique status.
Oh well.

GDB, you were extremely helpful. Pink's is top notch, I agree. Thankfully have a In-n-Out in the hood.
/Mmm.

I'm a bit surprised that none of you guys directed CDB006 to Frank&Son's!

CDB006, it's a bit of a drive out to the City of Industry but it's a gigantic swap meet type of place for collectors. Everything from Disneyana to comic books, action figures to sports cards. There's a woman there who sells a bit of SSW and also painted garage kits and other comic type stats. Her prices are okay and she'll haggle a little. Beware though... some of her stats have been customized, but she'll point out whatever it is she's had done.

Hubby and I are heading out there today, as a matter of fact!
