So, I'm getting a P1 Maquette by Sideshow, and I'm just curious if I should sell my P1 to help pay for it, or should I keep him???

Any insight would be helpful. Thanks guy:)

See, currently I have neither, but I want both.

I'd keep the HT P1 just because of the articulation and the poses you can achieve with it. However, if it was the P1 Cinemaquette you were getting, I'm sure I'd be saying something different! :lol

I told you since the beginning that you would get past the hot toys and jump right into statues and lifesize pieces, I was right....

In my opinion, you should buy the pieces you like and keep them. I have big pieces like the Sideshow maquette and Cinemaquette, but I still enjoy my Hot Toys figures as well.

It's no fun when you never grow any attachment to any of the pieces you own and are always looking to sell them to fund the next thing you'll end up selling later to fund something else down the line. My biggest regret is selling some of the old Hot Toys like Celtic and Ancient because I saw the new P2 figures and thought the AVP ones were outdated and I thought I could use the money to fund the newer Predators.

Best advice for you right there!
Hang on to both and make your mind up but once you have the maquette, you will want the CM then - it is at least as good if not better!

i bought the predator cinemaquette a couple of months ago and to help me pay that i sold a few of my hot toys predators and i was so sad afterwards that i start searching and luckily i managed to buy them again except for pred 2, when you buy a predator maquette or cinemaquette you gonna say wow that's amazing and those hot toys are nothing compared to this but once you get used to you're maquette or cinemaquette you really start regretting selling you're hot toys predator figures so one advice : DON'T SELL YOUR PREDS !

Erm...how could we know if you should keep it or not?! huh

If you like it, keep it, if you don't like it sell it...it's that easy..
Why do you collect in the first place? To be able to say that you have some pieces, or because you like em and like the movies they represent?!

The Predator 1:6th line is the very last I would sell (doubles not included) of my figures.

IMO the SS Maquette's pose is PooP...very ghey. I'd try and get the cinemaquette if I could. :dunno

But hey, if you don't have a connection with the figure anymore I say sell that thing and get something you do. and when/if that one fades sell it and get something else.

I haven't read a reply to your question, to not be 'swayed'. "Yes", sell the P1 on ebay NOW. You have an open window...NOW, to make a great profit off of those who don't do their research on the world wide web. Another, better P1 is coming for half of what you can get for yours, NOW. (hell, you already know this)

It's Classic that's coming, not P1. He's not exactly the same and may not be better over all. :wink1:

^ I can dig what you are saying bro, but still, let us see the positives of what 2 years MAY bring.;)

i bet alot of people will be putting the classic body on the original predator to make the "Ultimate Predator" like everyone did with the ultimate joker thing, and then hot toys will catch on and release a better predator dx figure with the best of both worlds.

I sold my HT Predator 1 lickety split after I got the Maquette. There is just not comparing the two. It's up to you whether you want a smaller jointed figure, or a larger, in your face, accurate statue.
