Hello! I recently finished bioshock infinite and i was completely stunned by how perfect it was.So i decided that i have to buy every collectible related to the game. Now that Easter (here in Greece it's on the 6th or 7th of May) and my name's celebration are near i'll be able to get the songbird edition, the neca figs, the sky-hook,the board game and all that stuff. So the next natural step would be to create the main duo in 1/6 and mini form (custom minimates). Now,i'm a total newbie when it comes to 1/6 customization (i've customized minimates and have gotten involved with warhammer so i know quite a few about mini-customizing) so i would like to know the answer to the following questions (NOTE:I'm making Booker and Elizabeth):

1)What paint shall i use?
2)What clay/sculpey shall i use?
3)What materials shall i use?
4)What bodies shall i use?
5)Are there any headsculpts i could use as a base?
6)I know that the type of sculpey most use is being baked. So my question is,how hard does it become after baking?Plastic hard or regular-clay-that brakes when it falls to the floor-hard? Also,if i sculpt a head from scratch what will i use as a base?

Thanks and if there are any other info that you'd like to share i'll be happy to read it!

(Sorry for the new thread but even though i searched i didn't find an answer to all of my questions so i posted all of them in one place)

If you're comfortabe with painting Warhammer, you can stick with those paints. That will be easier than trying to master a new medium.

Here are my quick generic answers -

1) Acrylics. I recommend Vallejo.
2) Sculpey. Either Super Sculpey(fleshtone), or Sculpey Firm(grey)
3) ?
4) ?
5) Not sure. I think a problem with using a headsculpt as a base, means you can not bake it once you have sculpted over it(baking melts the headsculpt?)...
6) Its as hard as plastic, BUT its brittle, meaning it will break if dropped on the floor. Small and thick parts will be OK, but thin pieces, and arms and legs etc will break. An armature skeleton is used to help prevent legs and stuff breaking off.
But you should always make a mould of your sculpture, and then cast it in plastic resin. Then you will have no breakage.:wink1:
...Making a head from scratch doenst need a base, but you can roll a very small ball of tin foil for the base if you want.

Thanks for the info everyone! Also,do you know if valejo paints could be used to paint clothes? Spiderman's r&b suit for example (and any other 1/6 clothes for the matter).

Simply put, yep they can.
You might want to dilute the paint a little bit first though, with either vallejo airbrush thinner, or water.
