Strangely, BBTS was apparently charging $4,999. I know BBTS often marks things up a bit, but that wouldn't account for the huge difference. Maybe the BBTS version was imported directly from Japan, and the Nikko version in the link is now being officially sold in the US.

Unless they have made major changes in the last year and a half the picture quality is pretty crappy. I saw this first hand at CES in 07. I didn't bother to go this year so I don't know if it has changed.
