Belloq eats a fly at 1:42:40. The part where indy aims the bazooka at the ark.

Got more of these...let's hear 'm

Best,

Robert

Check out the dude in the modern-era light blue t-shirt on the left when Indy is drinking Whiskey in the Bar after Marion dies!

I went to a recent cinema showing of Raiders.

The audience cheered when Belloq ate the fly.

I suspect that everyone in the cinema may have seen this film before.... :)

In older copies of the film, you can see a pole sticking out of the right side of the boulder when it first rolls down from its "cave" to crush Indy. I think the VHS version released in the late 90's still has it but it was removed for the DVD release a few years ago.

I sort of miss the glass between Indy and the cobra.
It was a nice little reminder that it was actually a real cobra and not a special effect :)

This is actually a misnomer. He doesn't really eat the fly. It flew away but it appears as though he ate it. Been confirmed in numerous interviews. Still gets a good laugh every time though.

True. Finally someone speaks the truth. :)

Here's a BIG oops that barely anyone knows about:

When Indy and Sallah are walking past the Nazi lunch table -- before Indy ducks into Marion's tent -- look at the hill in the background and you will see a 2nd unit camera crew hanging out on a wooden platform. The shot cuts to a medium with Sallah stalling the Nazis, then back out to the wide and suddenly that crew has disappeared (although the camera landing is still there).

On the big screen, once you notice it, its quite glaring. Kinda like the Stormtrooper bumping his head -- you can never look at that scene the same way again.

One of my favorites is the guy that is passed out against the wall as Indy and Marion exit the well of souls.. as the camera cuts back as Indy helps Marion down you see dude passed out on the ground.. the original scene had the guy see the stone being wiggled out and he drops out of fright.. but they never reshot it without him laying passed out on the ground..

all of these just make me want to watch it again! I've always loved the expression on the guy's face when he lands on the truck windscreen during the desert chase. priceless

I also noticed the c3po and r2d2 hyroglyph yesterday. Really fun to see. Thank god for the blu ray.

By the way you can still see the special fx iron pole coming from the truck when it flips over after indy shoots the driver in cairo and marion supposedly dies.

I was coming in to post that one!

Here are a couple I've noticed.

When Indy gets on the horse to chase after the ark in the truck caravan, you get that great heroic shot of Indy on the horse coming out of the tent, turns and starts off down the road where he runs over a poor guy in his way!

When Marion is in the Well of Souls with Indy, and she's panicking about all the snakes, right before she's about to climb on Indy's back, you can see Indy anticipating it and turns his back to her in order to move into position.

My most hated error is in Last Crusade the dang model of the tank that falls off the cliff and how the German officer is still standing out of the top hole as it flops over onto the top. So stupid.

Also in Raiders, when Toht, Dietrich and Belloq arrive at the Cairo town at the end of the truck chase, you hear a dog barking. When Dietrich takes the melon from the guy and throws it to the ground, the dog now squeals as if it was hit by the melon.

Nah man if we're talking LC, its gotta be the bookcase. Oh my god the bookcase. In the library, when Indy rushes up the spiral staircase to point out that, "X marks the spot". The prop bookcase looks so fake it is unreal.

I'm always too distracted by the fake Toht in the front seat in that shot. What the hell -- no one could get in the suit and act like they're looking around away from camera?

:lol I always loved the way Dietrich throws the melon down... I'll have to listen for the squeal next time I watch the BRD.

The shot of the bad Dietrich double (who looks nothing like Wolf) looking back as Indy pursues them in the truck early in the chase.

Not errors, but observations -

I always wondered why all the soldiers in the back of the truck - once they knew Indy was in control of the cabin - didn't just shoot through the back of the cabin and kill him. Yeah, the truck would crash, but instead they climb out and shimmy along the side of the truck? And Dietrich has a sidearm - he's right in front and looking right at Indy, yet never just shoots him?

What is weird in all the dig scenes is watching how the arab extras react to things at particular moments. They seem to be always massing and pushing and yelling and you're like - what are they doing? They're just workers, right?

That's just bizarre.

I saw this post at work today and had to come home and check all of these factoids out.

Now I can't un-see that, it's just creepy.
