Rambo V: Rambo Goes to Mexico
Stallone on his desire to make another sequel.
March 8, 2012
by Jim Vejvoda
Maclean's recently chatted with action icon Sylvester Stallone about his career, during which time he also spoke about his desire to make Rambo V and where it might take place.
"I'm dying to do another Rambo. He's in Arizona on the border," said Stallone. "It will involve him going into Mexico. I don't think Rambo likes Mexicans."
The sequel was initially billed as Rambo V: The Savage Hunt, which would have seen Rambo partnering with a Special Forces team to hunt down a genetically-engineered man-beast in the Arctic. Needless to say, that approach was scrapped.
But before you allow yourself to think Rambo V is a given, we remind you of what Stallone said in 2010 after Savage Hunt imploded: "I think Rambo's pretty well done. ... I don't think there'll be any more. I'm about 99% sure. … I was going to do it. I said I'd never talk about this, but I feel that with [sic] Rocky Balboa, that character came complete circle. He went home. But for Rambo to go on another adventure might be, I think, misinterpreted as a mercenary gesture and not necessary. I don't want that to happen."
