Sad to hear. Such an icon. Every generation has that person that they reference at the top of the scale. I think she and Ann Margret were the two in that generation. My Dad will be sad as he was a huge fan of hers...

Very sad. She was an awesome strong woman long before it became "a thing". She was a striking beauty who could convey strength w/o shedding her femininity, a lesson that young Hollywood ladies of today would be advised to heed.

She'll be missed.

Incredible woman. Born - Jo Raquel Tejada, not many celebrate she was also a Latina Icon.

Similarly so was iconic Margarita Carmen Cansino who in Shawshank was

followed by Raquel's symbolic final path to freedom...
