MISSION IMPOSSIBLE FALLOUT 4/10 for the visuals only.. Talk about rip off.Story was a stupid continuation of the last one with the same bad guy who for some absurd reason has been on tour for the last 2 years.Cavill was a waste of talent. And he's not all that talented anyway.
Too bad because I was really looking forward to a new IMF story.

Ready Player One- 7 out of 10. A fun and cleaver story. The nostalgia aspect worked for me and the CGI effects were good. The camera moved waaay too much in the oasis parts and with so much going on, it was a bit nauseating.

Dunkirk- 10 out of 10. A strong and compelling story filmed and edited perfectly together. The acting, sound, and visuals were fantastic.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle- 4 out of 10. This lacked the charm and comedy the first one had. This felt tonally off from the first movie, replaced the fantasy animals that were an essential part of the first movie for boring people, the comedy felt forced, and the acting by the Rock, is well, the same as any other character he's portrayed, I'm tired of it. Karen Gillan and Jack Black were good though.

Atomic Blonde- 7 out of 10. Great visuals, music, and some truly remarkable action scenes. Charlize Theron is stunning and bad ***. This could've been a really great movie, if they didn't screw it up with the interrogation flash forwards and instead told the story as a straightforward narrative. The interrogation just took me out of the story.

Robot Carnival: 7/10

Anime anthology film I first saw on a Sci-Fi channel Anime showcase in 1993 or so. The animation was, by and large, top notch and beautiful to behold. Love some of it, not in love with some other parts, but loads of creativity, and there were several bits that I remembered pretty well from the first time I saw them. The opening scene is great fun.

Blindspotting - 10/10

Best movie of the year so far, I'm not sure why the trailers made it out to look like some heavy drama because it's really 80% comedy and a really funny film about a guy in his last three days of probation just trying to stay out of trouble hanging out with his best friend and it's incredibly well done. I wasn't buying the hype when I was reading about the film as I never come out of these films liking it as much as critics do but this one is amazing.

Christopher Robin - 8/10

Loved it. I've been reading that people don't like it that Pooh and friends are actually real and talk to people in the real world but I guess it never clicked with me when I watched the cartoon that these were toys that Christopher played with and he just imagined they were real so the real world hijinks Pooh gets into in this film was really charming to me and were actually my favorite parts of the film. The films biggest weakness to me is that it's just so simple of a story and there's nothing original about it other than it being a live action winnie the pooh movie.

The Incredibles 2 - 5.5/10

Getting really tired of the "superheroes need to be put in check" theme. It didn't bore me here as much as BvS and CW, but I still don't like it.

Hotel Transylvania 3 - 3/10

About what I expected for the third installment of this series.

Mission Impossible: Fallout - 6/10

Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 98% aggregate score. Metacritic an 86. The movie is technically well-made, but built on such an unimpressive story (getting real tired of the whole "killing millions to save billions" schtick) loaded with so many spy film cliches that I'm loathe to give it any more than a slightly above average rating. I weep for modern blockbusters and modern critics alike. Standards have truly fallen and with them, so has the quality of event films.

Ready Player One - 7/10

This was a good movie overall and I do recommend it but it had a bunch of boring parts and I felt it dragged on more in some scenes, especially at the end, than it had to.

Christopher Robin 5/10.. actually not really for small children. All the children in the Theater were restless and not interested in all the Human dialog. And they only watched the film when Pooh and the others were on screen. And listening to the 12-14 year olds behind me they didn't like the stuffed animal look of the characters.Very surprised they went with the stuffed animal look instead of the Paddington CGI which was fantastic.

Avengers IW
