As a fan of the first film, and an even BIGGER fan of ROME, this is such bad-ass news!!!
I couldn't be more pumped!

Originally, I thought fellow ROME star James Purefory would be a logical choice for a sequel, due to his strong resemblance to Jane, but this is an even BETTER choice, because of how much Stevenson looks more like the comic-book character.

Now if only we can get Kevin McKidd for Bond 24!

He was also good in King Arthur a couple of summers ago (even though he dies in that one). A good casting choice bodes well for this project.

This is great news ! Ray's character in ROME is the hardest man in history! Hated the first ( Tom Jane ) movie ,but thought Jane himself pretty good . This casting has got me interested in a movie that I cared less than squat about . Stephenson looks the part, can act and is bloody huge to boot !

To answer your question, Yes I have seen ROME, I have HBO. There is nothing wrong with Ray, but he is not The Punisher!!!!!! Movies are never as good once the cast is changed.

The first movie had its moments, but the problems were with the characters where he lived. It worked in the comic, but it seemed odd that it was included in the movie.

I liked the Punisher w/Jane in it. Thought it was pretty good actually. Alot better then Ghost Rider was.

As mush as I like actor continuity and would of liked to see Jane return, the switch in actors isn't a real big deal for me thou either. I'll see it on disc once its released. Just like the last one.

Agreed. I MUCH prefer Tom Jane as the Punisher, but I'll wait to see the movie before I judge who's Punisher is better.
