Your replacement piece is currently being shipped to us from China and will arrive shortly. If you would like to keep your replacement order to be charged at the time of receipt, please have the funds available as well as respond to this email. You will be charged the full invoice amount refunded to you at this time.

Should you not wish to keep your order, please let us know as well and we will promptly cancel your replacement order.

Once your statue is received, it will be inspected and labeled with the corresponding edition number. We estimate the shipment to arrive within the next 2-3 weeks.

They just sent me another e-mail stating that they will still accept my Iron man bust, but I was scared that they may not have an extra. This is good freakin news.

did you originally get a refund on the item then? I thought that if you opted for a replacement the original payment would not be refunded?.....

Watch them still put that plastic around the busts that scratched them the first time around.

Yep, they refunded the cost because they didn't know when or if there would be replacements available. They did keep me on the list of people who wanted to get a replacement for my defective piece.

I wonder what the scoop is on the replacement masks.

Mine was damaged, and Sideshow gave me the option of replacing the entire bust, or just the mask. Since the rest of the bust is perfect, I didn't want to tempt fate by going for a complete replacement, so I chose the mask option. They said it would be 2-3 months before replacements were available, but I haven't heard a word since.

We wanted to take this opportunity to e-mail you about your replacement order for the Iron Man Exclusive Bust (#29371). Replacements for this item have arrived and were thoroughly inspected.


The Iron Man Exclusive Busts (#29371) replacement arrived to us with mild to medium paint flaws. Flaws that could be expected in the medium to mild range would be small spots, scuffs, scratches, etc. If you are the type of collector that is not concerned with mint packaging or with minor paint flaws on their item, then we may be able to assist you in acquiring one of these items for your collection at a significant discount.

Since these items would be considered to be distressed, they are available to purchase on a first come, first serve basis for $xxx each, which is almost a xx% savings from the original retail price of $199.99. We will attempt to select the best item for you from those available, but will not be able to offer you choices. Any of these imperfect items purchased will be considered non-returnable/refundable for paint flaws or packaging damages.

That's classic. I guess they did re-use those dumb plastic guards. I don't get it. No other statue or bust I've seen has ever used them. Why were they used on this piece, especially because they seem to be the cause of the paint scuffs and smudges?

I havent been keeping up with this bust....but I am now thinking of picking one up. Is the paint scuff and damages rampant on majority of these?

Apparently so. I was pretty lucky, and got one with almost no damage at all, just a damaged mask (which STILL hasn't been replaced!).

I guess, looking on the bright side, the ES of 400 for the exclusive is most likely no longer valid. It's probably going to end up around 200-250, when you consider how many people will not opt for the "mild to medium damaged" replacement, even at a XX% discount.

I bought one off an Ebay seller a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, it had a few scuffs, but I'm just keeping it since it looks like SSC did the same thing with the replacements and the plastic guards. Some appear worse than others. I suppose it could be worse.

They are hard to take pictures of because of the light issues. If I still had mine I would help you guys out. I will say this though, the scuffs are usually pretty noticeable and you can feel them when you run your finger across the surface.

Rory your honest opinion, would you reccomend getting this bust despite the flaws and take a chance, or would you just advise me to stay away from it? I can get one and I know it can be returned for a refund....but Im thinking I will probably get one with scuffs...

Hmmm. Tough call really. Only get this bust if you really like Iron Man and you really like the way this bust looks in all the pictures you have seen. Although, the biggest concern or deciding factor is, can you live with a glaringly imperfect item?

You will more than likely get one with scuffs and paint scratches due to the nature of the paint they used and how Sideshow packaged this bust. If you are anything like me then flaws bother you and you won't be happy. I returned mine for a refund because I knew that I would just see the defects and not the whole picture when I looked at this bust.

Furthermore, this bust is rather heavy and pretty large so be prepared to make space for it too.

Thanks Rory, I also have a great eye for details. I can spot the smallest flaw with ease. I think I'll pass unless I can get a good deal on one then.
