I have Mark 3 DC with a burnt out light bulb in the head. After disassembling the head, I decided to hard wire a replacement so that it would run off a dc adapter. By default, it uses 3 coin cell batteries that produce 4.5v. I figured that if I got a 5v replacement bulb with a 4.5v adapter, that it should work. However, that isn't the case. It does light up for a few seconds, then it starts to flash at intermittent intervals.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing that to happen and/or how to correct it? I know a little bit about electronics, but really, just enough to be dangerous.
Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks.
