Ringers starts tonight, so it's time to have a dedicated thread. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it turns out well for SMG, as I've certainly missed her on the small screen.
I'm definitely looking forward to it. . It's about time she that returns to television, and I'm excited for something different from her. It hasn't been the same without my weekly dose of 'Buffy.'
No problem. I just wanted to throw it out there. (I didn't want to look like a jerk though. )
I'm kind of happy this is on The CW and not some other network (mainly Fox .) I'm amazed at some of the programming on The CW that has lasted as long as it has. Hopefully, this will last awhile!
I want this to be good just for her but unfortunately pretty much every critic who has seen the pilot episode has hated it so far. I hope they give it a chance.

I really liked the premiere....didn't love it....but really enjoyed it. It was really nice seeing Sarah Michelle Gellar on the small screen again. It brought back memories of Buffy. She still showcases her acting chops in Ringer.
The hook for me was the whole 'what happened to Siobaun' and what did Bridgette get herself into? LOVED the twist at the end.
So Siobaun CAN swim! lol It looks like she's about to rock Bridget's world!
I didn't care the shared screentime between the sisters. It's just...awkward, cutting back and forth. Back and forth. I just didn't like it, especially the boat scene where they first ride out together. The special effects in that scene were less than great. I don't know if part of it was filmed on a green screen, but that 2-3 minute segment was horrible.
When Siobaun jumped ship, that's when I said 'this is about to get good.'
Ioan Gruffudd, as Andrew, was great. I'm definitely curious to find out why the Siobaun/Andrew relationship is strained. It looks like Agent Henry (Nestor Carbonell aka Richard from Lost!!) will be a thorn in Bridget's side for a while. And Henry (Kristoffer Polaha), I'm sure, will shake things up as well.
I felt the same about seeing them together.. It just didn't look right.
Especially when.. I think it's right before the boat ride, when they're in the house talking to each other.
I actually really liked the show though, it has a very unique feel to it..

Yeah, the filming just looked awkward there. And that was another moment where the background scenery looked fake, to me. The ocean view from the windows looked wrong. I know I'm not explaining myself well, but I think you know what I'm getting at.
Overall though, I felt the same and really liked it. I'll definitely tune in next week.
Yes, I thought it was a good start - worth watching a few more. Kudos to SMG's acting that I could always tell whether it was Bridget or Siobahn on screen.
Theories as to what's up:
Clearly, Siobahn wants to be dead. It was also pretty clear that she wanted Bridget there - Bridget had written her with an apology, clearly worried about dying before getting to, but they also made it obvious that Soibahn wrote her back (the envelope they found at the bus station). She gets her sister there, jumps off the boat...
So that seems straight forward to me. But then the mystery starts...
If she just wanted to fake her death, she'd probably think she was done. Bridget would report it, end of story. But if that were the case, why Bridget? She could have done the same with any friend. I think there's two possibilities: a) she thought Bridget would take over her life (she did make it a point to tell her no one knew she had a twin sister, and leave all her identification) or b) Bridget would be blamed for the death. Perhaps it didn't matter to Siobahn which happened - perhaps she just hates Bridget enough for whatever past transgression the apology was for that she wants her hurt either way, and she saw an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone. She could fake her death AND screw Bridget. If Bridget is blamed for her death, all the better. If she takes over her life, Siobahn hires a killer to take her out, and creates the best fake death ever for herself.
I figure there's one other possibility though, especially since we know how they love to lie with previews of coming episodes...
Siobahn was counting on Bridget taking over her life, because someone ELSE is trying to kill her. She knows this, and figures she'll use her less than close twin sister as bait. That has some intriguing possibilities as well, and nothing we've seen so far cements that it's actually Siobahn who hired the guy that attacked
Bridget.
As I said, worth watching for awhile to see where they go. I also like that Siobahn is such a total _____, and we'll slowly get to see Bridget fix her sister's life.
