A lot of folks outside of Australia wouldn't have seen The Proposition, a Western shot in one of the hottest parts of Oz. He was up there sweating in the stinking heat to play in that film, and imo it was one of his finest performances:

Dude that film is one of my favorites and I caught it at an art house theatre here in St. Louis years ago. The Proposition was my introduction to the great John Hillcoat. But Hurt's performance here is one for the ages. Un****ing believable man! Anybody who has not seen this masterpiece needs to drop what they are doing and go watch it. One of the best westerns EVER.

Sad to hear, also loved the proposition was drawn to it through nick cave......a dark little opera, which hurt steals every scene hes in.

"In the absence of Light, Darkness prevails"

I feel a lot of our Light has been getting snuffed out recently. Dark times ahead indeed.

Man, that just... sucks. I heard about his cancer a year or two ago, but I thought he was doing well now.

Who's next?

Ford, Schwarzenegger, Stallone, Hamill, Russell, Weaver, Weller, Hamilton, Keaton, Gibson, Cameron and Lucas.

Maybe Disney should let Lucas direct one more. :lol

So sorry to hear this. Such a talent. Pancreatic cancer is one of the worse cancers to beat. Only 5% do.

RIP I'll just be happy that he's no longer in pain.

Sad news. I wonder how this will effect the signature edition of the BCS War Doctor figure.
