I have tickets Fandango'd for tonight. Despite the reviews on it I'm still excited to see it. My wife and I watched the original Halloween last night in preparation.

I haven't seen the "theatrical cut" but I thought it started poorly with a lot of un-necessary dialogue but eventually turned into an old-school horror flick. Overall, I liked it and will check it out on Monday...

Feel bad for John Carpenter. You have two terrible remakes based off his classics (The FOG and Halloween) along with Len Weisman's potential suck fest in Escape from NY coming down the pike.

The Akkad family picked the wrong dude to restart their franchise.

Yeah the Simpsons is just the best show ever, no big deal.

I was excited to see this... until I saw that there was no review today in the LA Times (always a bad sign), and I started reading the reviews from Halloween fans here. Their enthusiasm now seems more like justification. Another bad sign.

Too bad, I had hoped maybe, just maybe, Zombie would pull this off.

All in all I am happy. It was a good Halloween movie, if not AS good as the original 2. Lacking suspense and character development for the girls, but still a damn good flick that will satisfy any fan of the films. At least IMO.

Glad to see you liked it too Josh, I get the feeling you and I are about equal in Halloween fandom and I figure if you like it too, I'm not a fluke fan.

Same thing here too man! I was just telling my wife about what the site was saying about it, and that if you had something good to say about it... it must not be all that bad. I think we tend to think on the same page, especially in regards to Halloween.

Also... Have you seen the new CGP Myers mask? Well... not NEW... just a variant of the Warlock... Pretty pricey, but badass.

Thanks for sharing that Josh, I'm really starting to crack, I definitely have to work one of these into my 08 budget, enough's enough. I'd own the SSC Myers if it weren't so generic. I'm on the fence but I think I'll hunt down and get the NECA mini bust.

Got back and loved it. I actually like it better than Halloween 2. There were somethings I didn't agree with but overall I thought it was great reinvisioning. I can't wait for Myers 2007 merchandising and really hope that we'll get a Zombie Michael Myers from SSC.

Same, I would love to get a "Better" Myers from Sideshow, the one we have now kinda resembles like part IV. Zombie's Halloween was very well made.
