Hey, guys -

Spent the weekend makeing these for my Medicom Rocketeer. All made out of genuine leather. The boots now allows for ankle articulation (the original boots were plastic).

The belt has a side holster for his pistol, and a pouch. I'm gonna add some metal detailing (buttons/studs/etc) to the boots and pouch later. And I will like dye the boots so that the lighter edges don't show like they do (maybe - kind of like it).

Here are some pics:

very nice. i wonder if Newline Minature's boots would fit this guy?

Great work. Must take you quite a bit of time to make those.

I also wander if Newline boots will fit. Could be too big.

The Newlines will fit, I think. But I'm not sure if they have boots that match the aviator look of the Rocketeer boots.

I always wanted to try to make some shoes/boots. These were made from the patterns that I created for the microman figure that I posted images of a couple weeks ago.

I made a pair of sneaks using pretty much the same pattern. Was going to use it for my custom Bruce Lee 1/6, but just decided to use it for my 78 Ripley instead. Bruce Lee needs yellow sneaks instead of white so I have to find some yellow leather.

Thanks for the compliments.

Love the boots, good job!!! You should try weathering them a bit, to give them a more natural look. Right now they look a little like moccasins.

Thanks!

Hehe. Yeah. I have to darken the trim - plus the rubber soles need to be filed down thinner.

And I'll take the steel wool to the leather to give it more of the beat up weathered look.

Be sure to post some pix when you're done.

These are the final weathered boots. Since this is my first custom boot - I learned some dos and don'ts that I will put into my second pair.

I'm gonna make the toes more squared off and flat.

I'll use these on my other custom figure.

Very nice tinister! They look great as does the holster. The boots will look even better with time as the leather ages... nice natural look. Now you have the ultimate Rocketeer, now all we need is Betty. Oh, Betty!

Tinister, does are some fine ass custom leather boots man... what did you use for the soles of the shoes?

Thanks, Snakebeater! There's this clay for children. You can make little animals with it and after you bake it - it's bendable like rubber.

So I sculpted the soles with super sculpey, made a push mold of them, then created a copy using the rubber clay.

Worked like a charm and is flexible like the real thing.

Thanks, Pjam. Yeah - my collection is so slanted towards the male gender. I only have two female figs (Takara Jin-rohs).

I'm working on a custom Ripley from Alien, though.

Awesome job tin, the boots looks much better noe that they are weathered!!!! Again, they look great!

i really like ur custom boots! but i was wondering, are urs more accurate to the movie or something? because the ones that came from Medi just look like regular military jack boots. urs seem to have alot more panels and pull tabs to them.
