I'm trying to decide if I want to get this. From the pics I've seen he looks to be really cool and well done. While I know SS will do one I'd like to get this just to have it and add it to my SW collection. I would still get SS when it came up.

Is it worth the price?

No, Sideshow will make one just as good, if not better for at least half the price. Remember how their Luke seemed good at the time?

I never thought about the Medicom Luke. It never looked good to me anyway. I'm tempted to get it because the Vader does look pretty sweet and I'll get SS no matter what.

If you are a Darth Vader fan in general than I would definately get it. It will be cool to have different versions of him since there will never be a 'perfect' vader. I also think the 'charred' Anakin feature is pretty cool and unique. Sort of like an EU version. Sideshow may do one with the older Anakin but I doubt we will ever see one quite like this.

Hell yes, get Vader.

The question whether the figure is worth the price is irrelevant. What you have to ask yourself is:

- Is it cool as hell? Yes it is.
- Is there any other Vader action figure even remotely as cool? No there isn't.
- When will SST make a fully suited up (OT) Vader? God knows.
- Will you have hours of fun messing around with it? Yes you will.

Probably the only question regarding money is: do you have the disposable income to buy it? You know Medicom Vader is way too small to display with 1/6 figures other than Medicoms, so that question is already settled.
Also, you might be able to find a good deal on ebay, the Stormies are a lot cheaper than when they were forst released, and so is Medicom Luke (obviously).

This was the very question I asked myself the other day. All in all, the Medicom Vaders do look really nice, but I believe they are too pricey. The RAH body is fantastic, but nothing that's worth the money(my opinion of course). Much rather wait for SSC to produce their own(saves me some money in the process). If I had some extra cash laying around, then maybe.................Opinions vary, and this is mine.................

Edit: Medicom does have some very nice quality pieces as well................just some extra info................

I can afford it that's not an issue and displaying it with the other SW figures won't be a problem even if it is smaller. Just trying to figure out if he is worth the price of admission.

If I didn't mind the price, then I would get him...................but which one to decide upon..........ROTS is pretty nice, but the ROTJ is nice as well.............hmmmmmmm...........

Just about to post there Josh but you beat me to it. Like my mom always says if you want it you should get it.

Looking at the pics it looks to be solid and made of pretty good quality. I love Vader so this will look good mixed in with my 12" SW stuff. Plus I figure I better get it now before Legolas/Gimli arrive and Grievous. :) Plus this is the last big purchase I make before SDCC.

Where did you end up getting it from?

Ebay from some guy in HK for $167 shipped. He has 1686 feedback with no negatives so I feel pretty confident.

Michael Crawford has a nice guest review up of the RotS Vader with some comparison shots of the RotJ Vader if you haven't seen the review yet.

I'm starting to wonder if a RotS Vader in Armour will also end up as a SDCC version of the standard Armoured Vader. Site exclusive? While it would be a cool figure, he only had less than 5 minutes of screen time in the suit so it would seem to fit the SDCC description.

I know it's too late now, but as a general piece of advice-

If you have to ask whether or not to get it, don't get it.

When pre-order went up for the Medi- ROTJ- Vader, I didn't hesitate, I didn't ask.

Having said that, I'm sure you'll love your Medi-Vader. He looks superb. I display mine seperate from all other 12". He's a stand-alone piece in my mind.

Well, I did this to get more or less a feel of the board than if I should get it per say. I've been thinking about getting it for a while now.
