Sad news. Even though it was set in 1939, I completely identified with Ralphie in every way. While I can't say he was one of the greats (he typically directed Hollywood knock-offs like Porkey's, the Baby Geniuses franchise, and The Karate Dog) he did do one hell of a job on A Christmas Story.

A drunk driver no less! Damn! I hope the SOB is lingering in the hospital completly paralyzed while his brain works just fine. Death would be too easy a punishment for complete buttwipes like this. SC is a great film that has touched the hearts of so many people. Reminds me of my own childhood growing up in the 50's. Sad news indeed.

And his MURDER BY DECREE just might be the best Sherlock Holmes film since the great Basil Rathbone gave up the role. The big climatic scene has Holmes filled with righteous indignation venting his anger against the leaders of the British government. Wonderful film.

And I see one person in the other car is in the hospital while his passenger had minor injuries. There is no justice.

Thats sad. Didn't the "old man" (sorry I forgot his real name) just die recently too. Great movie.... "I can't get my arms down"

For some reason it seems like 95% of the time the drunk driver never gets hurt.

I heard on the news. So sad. One of my holiday favs from when I was a kid :(

A Christmas Story and The Princess Bride have to be the two most quotable movies of all-time, or at least the kind of quotes that won't get you banned from a board.

Caddyshack ranks up there too... all great movies.

What sad news... and such a senseless death.

Christmas Story is my #1 favorite holiday movie! It is required veiwing, and I typically watch it multiple times during the day when its played on TNT or TBS. This year I actually got to go the house it was filmed at in Cleveland, its actually a little museum now and pretty cool for the hardcore fans!

Yeah, Daren McGavin. I think he died last year.

Tis a shame. Watching a Christmas Story every Christmas time, is a tradition in my household aswell.

RIP Bob Clark and Son:(
