Ok Thanks :D
I to wished Sideshow used another kind of brace to hold the figures. Some of my figures got marks of where the brace was holding them :monkey1

you could always just cut the round clamp part or turn it upside down and run it up thru the bottom and just tuck the strait part under the belt.
make sense?
i dont like the look of the clamps myself & try to hide them when i can.

the grommets are just tiny magnets. and yes the strap is magnetic. i bought a 100 pack of tiny magnets awhile ago for my custom projects and find they have many uses. to make the holster i just bought a small piece of black leather from Hobby lobby for about $3. for the first one i kinda just measured Sideshow's holster from the regular ST as best i could. then i just cut and shaped until it looked good and made a snug fit around the blaster. i then traced this pattern onto paper so i could replicate these in the future. the straps i just cut out with leftover scraps. i just super glued everything together and added the magnets and voila. here's some WIP of the holster i'm making for the Black Pauldron trooper to get an idea.

Thanks! That seems very doable! Where did you get the magnets?

holsters look great craw................i made some for my marmits a while back. i used a thin leather as well but instead of super glue i actually sewed it together. i had looked over a few 501st troopin' sites and borrowed some ideas.

Can't wait to get this one when I see all those good comments :D

But I have a question to the guy's that have a sandtrooper. I always put my figures on the stands that come with the figure. But looking at the pictures it seems there is little room between the pack and the trooper to let the stand hold him. Is it possile to let the stand hold the trooper without the pack looking like it's pushed back by the stand?

Sorry for my bad English :angelsmil

Yeah...the new sand trooper is one quality fig.

I gave up tring to make sideshow's stands work with the troops, so I use Medicom's clear stands with a clear rubber band and hide it behind the belts......works for me anyways :lol

Nah, the calf armor on the Marmits are designed exactly after the ones seen in the OT but, SSC's are not and look bloated to boot.

Don't forget that codpiece on Sideshows as well, looks better suited for a female.

Ok, I agree, that the leg armor fits better as well, and it does....the small details dont hold up as well: pouches, backpack all look toylike....and the mid torso piece is a reuse of their stormtrooper

Also, if you look at the breast plate on the Marmit, it has a bit of a lip on the bottom edge which flairs out to the sides and is also true to how the armor looked in the movie. For a figure kit being almost 15 years old now, amazing how right they got the look down opposed to what we are seeing released these days.

And finally, if you look at the middle of the calf armor on the SS version, the vertical raised chunk of plastic running from the knee area to the ankle, it should not be raised like that or even be there FFS. :D

I think I understand what you mean, I'll try it out tomorrow after school! Thanks for the tip :D

I'm really happy with this figure. I ended up canceling the white pauldron version in favour of this more iconic Sandie. There's something about the orange pauldron that positively screams ANH. The joints are all nice and tight on mine, and he holds all his poses. The backpack was a pain to put on, and he does tend to lean back because of the weight--I have him with the stand but with the ring turned around so he's just leaning on the wire. The backpack funnel on the bottom kinda sits inside the ring and lightly locks him in place. I think the weathering looks good overall. The dirty ochre wash all over looks very convincing, especially when you see him next to the regular Stormie. The dark spots of the weathering don't bother me at all. It's interesting, though. There's a dot screen for the darker weathering, meaning it was "printed" on. I wonder how, if it was silkscreened or what.

Well, this is my last figure for a while. My account is officially clear of all orders! I'm pretty happy with my collection as of now (I have around 26 figures or so). I'm going to try and be really good this year and only get what I absolutely love. Especially now with the Indy 1/6 line down, there's not that much that I'm anticipating. Greedo and Hammerhead are damn tempting, but I'm trying to stick to my "must have" list as best as I can. Of course when SDCC comes along this summer, I'm sure I'll be pre-ordering like there's no tomorrow! But for right now I'll try and save some pennies for those eventual announcements.

Very happy to soon be a part of this club at last -- I just ordered this thru AlterEgo, total with shipping is lass than the SS base price (without ship and tax). Tax is killing us in CA these days.

Would love to see more pics in the meantime.

Got mine from Alterego today! It wound up being my opener and the one from SS is my MISB one.

I must say aside from the pain in the butt straps on the backpack this is one awsome figure! Its just as good as the Sargeant and the two go well together.

SS has been one a really good roll over the last year ! Looking forward to getting the Black Pauldron Corperal next! Hopefully it will be next month.
