Yeah, no black pauldron for me either... 2 Sandtroopers are more than enough for my collecting needs.

But still cool they are offering all 3 versions for collectors.

The Black version will be the first ANH figure I'll pass on to date.... But like you said, GB, very cool for those who are hard core with the troopers. I just find it hard to be an army builder kinda guy.... at least in 1/6th.

Cool Swamp Thing Avitar Flosi!

I'm a sucker and have 2 Black Pauldron Sandies on order , might as well
complete the set , I'm more excited about this then getting Palpatine since they already put out the Palpatine 2 pack. Depending on what the Con Exclusives are I may cancel Palpy.

Thanks, LS :rock
Well, I'm hoping to get a few parts from the black sandie to upgrade the bashed one that I have on my dewback, so in the end I will still have all three colors represented.

Not sure what I'm going to do with Palps.... I'm far more excited for Greedo and his chair than Palps and the throne.... It just seems like there's so many deals to be had after the fact when it comes to the SW line. Vader and the Toopers have held their value while just about everything else can be had for much less it seems. Anyway, I find myself enjoying the hunt for deals. :D

I'm much more excited about adding the 41st Elite Clone, the Sandie Corp. , 501st and Greedo and the com exclusives to my collection than
a Old Man who should be in a retirement home .
If the Con Exclusives suck I'll get Palpy but I think at least the one for C5 will be good .Plus who knows what will be revealed at SDCC and C5
for 4th Q and next year.

We get a hint about the con exclusives next week . I probably will wind up canceling Granpa Grump.

I don't collect PT so my choices are much easier. Greedo, Sandtrooper, Palps and I really hope Momow Nadon!!!

It's the GI Joe, Indy and HT figures that make the choices tough. :lol

If the SDCC EX is PT I'll be able to save myself a couple bucks.

here you go.

the grommets are just tiny magnets. and yes the strap is magnetic. i bought a 100 pack of tiny magnets awhile ago for my custom projects and find they have many uses. to make the holster i just bought a small piece of black leather from Hobby lobby for about $3. for the first one i kinda just measured Sideshow's holster from the regular ST as best i could. then i just cut and shaped until it looked good and made a snug fit around the blaster. i then traced this pattern onto paper so i could replicate these in the future. the straps i just cut out with leftover scraps. i just super glued everything together and added the magnets and voila. here's some WIP of the holster i'm making for the Black Pauldron trooper to get an idea.

Thanks for that! I wasn't sure and Mad Old Jim's pictures threw me of. It looks like he added one to his. I appreciate the guidance.

Yep. Made my own thanks to Craw's tutorial.

It arrived :banana - but it was a real pain in the arse to get those straps on the backpack, and still needed to use double sticky tape for it to be sure. But the figure is really cool

Sean, if you have the original Stormie or Han/Luke Stormie with the holsters, you can kind of trace it with that. It's an extremely simple pattern, as you can see from Craw's pictures. If I have some time later I'll see if I can mock a pattern up.

Looks great Mad Old Jim. I actually have a spare Stormtrooper belt with holster, so I may try make some myself. Looks good and he does come with a blaster...

I don't understand: what is the problem with the backpack straps exactly? Why is it so tricky to put on?

I ask because I'm getting this tonight and I'd like to avoid any hassle in advance.

in my opinion they are a tad too long so even after you have them tightened all the way the pack seems too loose. i actually criss cross mine in an "X" pattern across the chest. i remove all the armor except the chest/back piece. i put the pack on and then try and slip all the other armor back on.

the problem with the straps is two fold:
1. the lightness of the back pack doesn't put enough weight on the straps/buckles to give a good bite to hold.
2. the buckles aren't at the right angle to get a good bite to the straps anyway.

the easy solution is to get the back pack where you want it & secure the strap. i wrapped a thin piece of black tape around the strap & under the shoulder armor.
