...a seller promptly refunds a buyers money and pays for the items shipping costs to and from the buyer when the buyer finds fault with an item?

if you mean negative for seller, **** no. I would never offer to pick up shipping fees back to me if the item was in stated condition when it left me too......not sure if that's the situation.

It's sort of the situation but not entirely. :lol Basically the buyer found a minor, although valid, flaw that I overlooked and I immediately apologized and offered a full refund plus shipping charges back to me. This after he claimed it was missing parts that he just overlooked to begin with.
After he asked for some money back in order to keep the item and I asked that he just send it back he began accusing me of changing the ad from advertising it as new to advertising it as used. That's what he claims is the reason for leaving negative feedback.

I'm just glad I kept all the pm's.

Nope. Totally uncalled for. I had a similar thing happen to me on eBay. Perfect feedback ruined beauce of a douche buyer.

I agree.

Why would you think that person deserved negative feedback?

I don't, cuz it was me. :monkey2

well, when this settles, you should let us know who it is. I wouldn't want to sell to this person in the future. I had a similar situation on ebay recently, just decided to do a partial refund to be done with it. Selling is becoming a bigger pain in the ass these days than I remember.

Nope. From the sound of it he wanted money for parts that turned out not to be missing, and created the flaw to try and get it instead.

I initially left the guy good feedback after he paid but once I got my figure back and refunded his money I went ahead and left a neutral (probably should've been a negative) above it warning other potential sellers. Hence the retaliatory negative from the buyer.

^^What he said. Please inform the rest so we don't have to deal with people like that. Good luck with the case. I'm sure the mods will do right by you. :duff

Can the mods change iTrader feedback? That would be nice. I'd be more than happy to share my pm conversation with them. I thought I did all I should have as a seller. I just really didn't appreciate being accused of being dishonest which is what his feedback claims.

It's harder and harder to trust who to sell to now. Seems like you can't sell anywhere anymore without a more than decent chance that the transaction will have issues. Even sites like this aren't as safe as you'd think it would be.

It's just a shame that even if there are things that go wrong during a sale and they're dealt with in a fair way that some people aren't happy no matter what. Not many sellers would offer to pay return shipping--that's a nice gesture that goes above and beyond in my book.

After I got it back I began looking at my other DX stands and one had similar minor flaws. Small lines on the underside of the led covers. I didn't mind him sending it back because of that at all but when he started accusing me of advertising the figure as new then changing the ad after he had purchased it, that's what really got under my skin.

I don't think mods can change feedback, but Dave and the supermods can. Sounds like a negative isn't warranted for you in this instance. But I often shy away from deals with noobs because of stuff like this. Expectations are often way too high, they often feel more entitled than they should, etc. Unfortunately you can't pick and choose who you deal with on eBay.

Undeserved retaliation feedback. This is why itrader isn't entirely reliable. Whose to know that many a person who should have been given a neutral or a negative feedback did not get it for fear of the inevitable reprisal from them? I know one guy here I very much wanted to give a neutral to and ended up giving none at all because, though it would have been undeserved, he likely would have given me a neutral or negative in return just like in this case.

Tell you what would make me feel bad, if I gave a neutral or a neg to a buyer and despite that the buyer then gave me a positive. It'd never happen though.

Situations like this are why I'm always apprehensive about selling collectibles online. What someone doesn't notice as a flaw/issue may be a colossal issue for some, resulting in accusations that the item was misrepresented. It's why I recommend that people that are highly concerned purchase collectibles in person in all of my auctions. I may lose a sale, but hopefully avoid a headache.

Also, as others have said, retaliation feedback is brutal. I've had many situations on eBay where I have avoided leaving neutral feedback out of fear of getting slammed with a negative.

I hope things get resolved for you.

If Dave or another mod notice this thread and can do something about it that would be great but otherwise I may not bother them with it.

I don't regret going back and leaving neutral feedback and warning other sellers even though I got the retaliatory feedback. I just don't like the fact he fabricated a lie and posted it in my feedback rating as his negative. Especially after I did everything I could do as a seller.

I definitely don't fault the guy for wanting to return it but the fact that after I immediately offered to give his money back and pay for shipping he starts accusing me of originally listing my figure as MIP, selling him a used figure, then changing my ad after he bough it really irritates me.

He made some other snide and ignorant comments to me too. I just don't understand why someone would act that way after a seller, who took a financial hit in doing so, immediately offers to make it right. :huh

A flaw on the stand? WGAF. What is the flaw?
