I'd like to see how many of you Freaks have these massive DVD Libraries and the set-up's which house them. This is about the best place that I could think to post this. Because you collect DVD's, thus rendering them "General Collectibles".

Christ! me and my girlfriend have around 800 dvds (movies and seasons) at a guess and about 15-20 Blu-ray. No idea where to bloody put them. Keep getting them at Xmas, B-days and so on because friends and family don't know what to get (and I can't suggest Hot Toy figures and other collectibles :() Alot haven't watched more than once. Want to get rid of like 70% of them but don't know where to sell them and shops like CeX give you peanuts in comparison to what they sell them for. Quite a few are ex rentals that got dirt cheap.

But yeah, hell of alot of DVD's. Some on shelves some in boxes. Have to keep them roughly in alphabetical order so can find a film if want to.

Its ridiculous. But like said, friends and family keep giving them as present ideas and stuff no matter how tell them that dont want any more DVDs. Feel like could open my own Blockbusters lol

I hear you loud and clear about finding space for dvd's let alone statues! Here is a pic form a couple of months ago with blu rays being the main focus but to the right you can see a stack of dvd's coming into shot. That is from floor upwards and there a 2 more of those next to it that is out of shot. So I need to stop buying them or find more space.

I have over 600 DVD's and with my BluRay collection growing.. it's time to do something.

So I will be building a Home Theater PC and storing all my DVD's on hard drives... then only keep the BluRay discs.

Just can't store my DVD's and statues any longer.

I use the Ikea Besta system with drawers to store my collection, so no pics. I'm currently sitting at around 800 DVDs and a little over 60 Blu-rays. I essentially stopped buying anything once I started Netflix last year. I miss it and I'm starting to slowly buy some stuff again.

I have alot of CDs and they were taking up alot of space so I bought special cd storage boxes and stored all the cases and got small plastic file boxes and put the cds in simple slip covers. I may do that with my DVDs too. It saves alot of space. I'm at work right now so I can't show you what they look like.

I've really slowed on buying DVDs and Blu Rays... I really don't rewatch stuff that often, and with Netflix and DVRs it seems less necessary to own everything.

As for how I store them; the house I bought last year had built-in shelves around the fireplace and they all fit in there (with games) nicely.

I have several hundred DVDs. But, I digitize them, store them on a terabyte harddrive, and transmit them to the TV with an AppleTV. We can pack away the DVDs, and watch any DVD we own at the push of a button on a remote control. Saves space, and effort.

As for DVD purchasing -- I've found that pawn shops are a great place to buy ... $2-$4 per DVD, and you can find pretty much anything. I won't pirate anything, so I insist on owning a DVD of everything on my terabyte. My DVD collection has probably doubled in the past year, and I haven't spent more than a few hundred bucks doing so.

I don't do rentals or NetFlix anymore because I'd rather spend $3 to buy the thing than a one-time or monthly fee to rent it.

I bought some decent leather bound storage books and put most of mine in there. they fit perfect with liners and all. Who needs all that plastic

No pics right now, but I have about 150 HD DVDs and 100 or so Blu Rays. I traded in most of my DVDs a while ago to start upgrading my hi def collection. I still have the Indiana Jones collection, Star Wars, and LOTR sets on DVD because there isn't an alternative available yet.

Wow, NICE PICS guys. I am facing the space issue and wanted to see if anyone had any kind of fancy storage setup, but I guess not. I have 266 DVD's which doesnt sound like much. I mostly collect horror and all time classics like Die Hard, Predator, etc. You know, the good crap! Anyway, next on my list is Tron and Wes Craven's They Live.

True, but i'd rather have this sickness then a diaria/vomiting sickness (just had that) :lol

No pics until tomorrow :(

Just find any picture of the inside of a massive Blockbuster and that's 10% of what he has. :lol

here's a pic of my dvd collection. it's just over 1000 at the moment and i've converted all of my original dvd boxes over to slim 7mil cases so i can store over double the movies in the same space.
