Sideshow 1/6 Scale Shelf Depth

I don't know if I should be asking this question on this particular board, so moderators please feel free to move my post if need be.

I've recently started collecting Sideshow 1/6 scale figures, and I want to build my own custom shelves for them but I have a question. How deep (front to back) should I make the shelves, in order to accommodate the sideshow 1/6 scale figures with the largest bases? Keep in mind, I don't necessarily set them all perfectly straight on the shelf, they may be turned slightly at an angle depending on the pose that I pick.

I would say that the HT Man of Steel has the largest flat base I have seen. But you may want to consider vehicles too like HT Ghost Rider's Motorcycle or TDK vehicles, other Batman vehicles, Tron bike, etc.
