That looks fantastic. Good to see the Scout actually grasping the handlebars as opposed to the numerous shots leaning against the bike, sitting sideways, etc. Can't wait to see this in person.

It looks like the bike will turn out like the Probe Droid...a touch delicate but it should look great. The Scout has its inaccuracies but no deal-breakers...my only concern is those stupid bodies SSC uses...they're good at some things, i.e. crouching, kneeling...but the build hampers other movements and neutral positions don't work well...
Less of an issue with this release as I'll only display the Scout mounted on the bike. Worst case a body swap is simple but added expense and headaches make me cranky at this price point.
Actually, this price point in general makes me cranky.
C'est la vie etc.

Yep, agreed on all points, ZE. Looks like X-Wing Luke is the first figure with SSC's new body, but I'm hoping they'll swap the Scout onto it, too. In regards to the bike, I'm OK with having to handle it with care, but for the price point it best not be R2 flimsy.

From what I can see the build has more in common with the Probe than R2, so probably not a big issue. Those thin struts do look problematic...in spite of the rapacious Fedex brokerage fees it may actually be smart for me to buy this from SSC direct, in anticipation of QC issues and SSC's generally good customer service.

I just ordered a Scout Trooper last night. Seeing that picture I'm tempted to cancel and pre-order the Speeder Bike/Scout Trooper combo.

I could be wrong, but I have a feeling that Speeder Bike is similar to the Probe Droid in that I don't know when or if similar will be offered again. That being said, I don't think it'll sell out any time too soon, either.

Yeah I'm thinking the same. I'm trying to choose one big item from Star Wars only and its between the Speeder Bike and the TaunTaun. The fate of the TaunTaun lies with how good or bad the Hoth figures turn out. I don't think Sideshow will mess up the Scout Trooper as they've done a bunch of Troopers in the past and don't seem to struggle with masked figures like they do with human likenesses.

That choice comes down to personal taste, but I feel as if the Scout & Bike are the better option as long-term the bike would be easier to repair if necessary...(Is the TaunTaun polystone?) ... and I do think the Scout will look better overall than Luke or Han at this point...plus the bike and Scout display may loan itself to more dynamic/dramatic posing options.
As for SSC's trooper record...they've always done interpretations or approximations near as I can tell (I can't speak to the Clones as I'm not a PT guy) ... the Snowtrooper had several things "wrong" with it, but as most of us can agree, it displayed really well nonetheless and conveyed the essence of that character well...I think the Scout will be the same. The helmet is off but maybe not off enough for me to complain too much, and if I'm remembering right the helmets were inconsistent on screen as well.
I would say...go for the bike. But that's my pro-Imperial, anti-statue bias.

Yeah I'm not a statue guy either. I just like the Hoth stuff and it'd be cool to have a TaunTaun but like I said only if the Han and Luke turn out good enough to display on it. The Troopers I've seen don't look perfect but seem serviceable enough for a display to me.

I just showed that new picture to my girlfriend and said, "nice, right?" She said, "yeah" but only cause she doesn't know they're on pre-order.
Haha just Tried that. Mine just shook her head and Said no.
Ha! Mine just doesn't know better yet.
