I'm actually really curious about this. I've always thought that since this is a property they developed and created themselves, they needed to attach some kind of publication behind it. Be it a tv series, (maybe a youtube sort of one), comic or video game. These are cool looking characters that i think really could use a lot of help in terms of developing their personalities. For it to sell well, (in my opinion) people gotta feel connected to the characters. It's not enough to just have cool looking pieces, people gotta like the character and that can only happen with some sort of media with it. That said, I think it would be cool if they had a reward that let you be a character in the game. Maybe a tour of the Sideshow office itself as a reward too

I'm surprised my the lack of buzz about this! I agree, I think its a great chance to really open up the world of the Court of the Dead. Its hard to sell a line of original sculptures without something to flesh it out. A 80's Saturday morning cartoon isn't exactly going to work for this line :lol So this seems like a great opportunity to open up the Underworld. I loved the Chronicles of the Underworld book so I'm excited for this game.

Not really, I don't expect them to make a good game and it doesn't really look that good both in gameplay and "graphics". The art itself is decent enough however it only really looks good in stills, the animation is looking pretty poor (not just the sped up gifs)

Even if it didn't look like a mediocre and very basic apps store game (which in my opinion it does) there's still no way I'd pony up my own money to help pay the costs of something like this just to save a company as big and successful as Sideshow from having to do so themselves. And as for the rewards, mostly DLC bits and pieces with the occasional bit of tat like enamel pins and a brooch sprinkled in? From a company in a unique position to offer some quality, fan pleasing, and even genuinely exclusive incentives, what they have offered and the levels they have offered them at seems pretty damn cheap and cynical to me.

Yeah, so not impressed personally. By any of it. But we'll see if they can prove me wrong, I guess.

Sure...

They were reported as being a 25-30 million dollar grossing company back in 2007, in the near decade since, and with all the top tier licensing and the huge increase in distributing other manufacturers products they have added in the meantime, I can't imagine that has done anything but help them grow exponentially. They are a long way from being the small niche company they started out as, and more power to them for becoming such a success.

Its not for everyone, sure, but it looks fun nonetheless. The upper tier rewards are quite nice for those with the coin for them - first crack at the Alltaker himself if I'm not mistaken. I wonder if they'll keep him an elusive piece by only having him available for limited times/opportunities such as this?

Are you talking about the Death statue? According to Alex, it'll be up for pre-order later this year.

Wow...it looks so bad...

Only contrustive criticism I could offer is to scrap the whole thing and start again.

I think CotD has enough interesting lore and characters to have a decent game, but this isn't it.

I'd be more interested if a bigger studio took this and made a Diablo style dungeon crawler out of it. Let us pick our faction and class, and then let us customize our characters but in a bigger and better game than then one they're showing off in their kickstarter.

Going to pass on this kickstarter. Still enjoying their CotD PF's though!

Will poor Xbox ever get a decent game? :loL

Ok I'll take the bait. Do you own an Xbox? There are **** loads of good games on it and if you were any way informed on the current line up of console games (across the board) you'd know this.

On topic, yeah I agree with the general consensus. This looks pretty bad but hell yes would work as a dungeon crawler.

I had Xbox until the current gen. All the good exclusive games I wanted to play were PlayStation. And to my luck, they still have been so I'm quite pleased with switching to the PS4.

I wish Sideshow would have specified this was a mobile game instead of a video game when they were hyping it up before their Kickstarter started. I was expecting something much more impressive so this is a big letdown to me. I'm not going to contribute to something that will fade away soon after the release. In the meantime, I have my Sideshow calendar linked to my Google calendar and they've filled up the next few weeks with the Kickstarter event on each day until it closes.
