this is bad news at this point in the economy, with the sheer amount of figure HT has been pumping out, fans will be too spoilt for choice.

i'll only be able to get half of the figures i'll want

As I've been watching SS hit armoured troops, aliens and now droids out of the park, my one gripe was that their humans don't look good next to them. Now we have the answer!! All I want is a decent Luke, Han and Leia and I'll be a happy man.

heh, every couple of posts, someone seems to make one that leaves out the fact that it's not Just hot toys making star wars figures. that they are collaboration figures with sideshow AND hot toys.

I would really love to get a Darth Maul and ROTS Obi-Wan from HT, those are 2 figures from Star Wars that I'd love to have at the best of the best quality like this. ROTJ Darth Vader also means a lot to me and I just hope whoever tackles it gives us the best mass production can offer. I'd also like to see ROTJ Luke revisited.

Maul, Anakin (Ep III) and Dooku are the only PT figures I'd consider.

I prefer HT deliver the OT with the main cast (Luke, Han, Leia, Chewie and Obi Wan). SS can deliver the droids, bounty hunters, creatures and Vader. Then I'll call it a day.......

That's a SS figure that could use a redo.

Honestly, I'd like a Luke, Leia, Han and Ben by HT so they all 'match' in style and realism but I'd rather they do Chewbacca and 3PO and R2 so we can get those finally.

I don't see HT doing oddball figures. Only major characters, which will be nice.

SS is doing a great job on the obscure characters, HT focus on the core life will be good.

This would be great...

SSC to the addional characters (better prices, good quality)
Hot Toys core characters (amazing quality, crippling prices)

This way the amount of Hot Toys Star Wars wouldn't drain everyones wallet in one go.

Seems like SS has been on that path for well over a year now. We haven't seen a human since Lando... and we have been getting a lot of more obscure characters like Hammerhead and Bith and clone variants, etc.

Edit - This actually reminds me of issues that I had with a Sideshow figure and a Hot Toys figure.

I had a Hot Toys Alien figure that was boxed so that you had to assemble it. As I caefully assembled the leg...the hip joint busted.


I had a few Sideshow Star Wars figures that had "frozen" joints (early on in the line). The advice that was given to me was "jack the hell out of the arm and it will loosen".


So I jacked the hell out of the arm and it "unfroze" with no further issues.

That Hot Toys Alien broke when I was being careful with it. The Sideshow one wouldn't break when I put enough force on it that I was sure it would have to.
