Insufferable S.O.B.
Truth.
Our goal was to create a GI Joe line that represented what a 'real' modern GI Joe team would look like, drawing on the classic designs and updating their gear and weapons.

It's been a few years since I left SC so I'm no longer privy to the current internal workings over at SC, but I can tell you how it was when we first started the GI Joe line. All of us on the team were either intimately familiar with the GI Joe property or with modern military gear and military history. Most of us knew both. Our goal was to create a GI Joe line that represented what a 'real' modern GI Joe team would look like, drawing on the classic designs and updating their gear and weapons. We worked with some of the top real world tactical manufacturers to license and miniaturize their product into sixth scale. It is safe to say that most of that original team is no longer at SC. It isn't surprising then, that the momentum isn't there and that design decisions haven't been faithful to the original mission statement. It may seem like I'm biased, but I really loved our work on the GI Joe line. It's a shame that it has gone the way of other popular licenses, if in fact, it has gone into hiatus.

Thats the thing most people seem to miss, this was never a "card accurate" line...
They did a really good job of a modern take staying fairly loyal to the source material

But there are a lot of complaints about the lack of card accuracy. No one ever said it was.

Maybe Sideshow can take the success of Baroness and finish Scarlett. Then use that as inspiration to move forward with the line. 1/6 figures and maquettes. Premium Formats, now being fully sculpted as well, is just too confusing to the average customer.
The inclusion of the vest and coat isn't the issue, it's the lack of faithful design Destro display options.I'd be curious to see what "the original team's" interpretation of Destro would have been. Perhaps it would have been a little more faithful to the iconic design while updating to current military realism without the stupid REI vest and trench coat.
As much as I want Scarlett, I equally want Lady Jaye. They can't end the line without Jaye!
scarlett, gung ho, shipwreck, and lady jaye are needed
