The gloves are welding gloves I believe and should be gray.

Nope. They're much lighter than the sleeve.

Can someone email Sideshow about these issues? It seems like they could fix these things for a figure 13 months away, but who knows.

Someone from another forum will ask SSC about a few things on figures, including details of AT-AT Driver. But I don't think much will change anyway.

Definitely not white.

Pretty close though. I mean if you look close enough at stormie holsters, you see they're very dark brown leather, not black. Death Star trooper gloves have bright red inner lining visible onscreen, but no one replicates that.

In ref pics, ATAT driver gloves are noticeably lighter than the armor, jumpsuit, boots and even webbing - maybe not bright white but far closer than any of those other parts.

This is from the 501st (not right obviously but they source the closest they can):

Don't get me started on the 501st and accuracy. Yes I am a member. I've also researched the pilot for going on 10 years now. :)

Researched using what for 10 years? The discovery of the helmet is a great one, but there's only a small handful of images (and I guess the movies coming out on Blu Ray) available for authentication of the rest of the outfit.

But are you saying the gloves should be as grey as the jumpsuit or something? Not sure what you mean by "not white." The gloves you posted above most people would say are white (or slightly "off-white" if you pressed them) welding gloves.

I think he might be saying that the photo just posted of 501st gloves aren't really relevant for judging whether the figure is accurate or not - because 501st isn't known for accuracy.

The welding gloves look light grey here FWIW. But WRT the figure, I don't care whether the gloves are light grey or snow white. :)

Eh... your eyes, his eyes, my eyes, this is all that matters...

Yes, it's overexposed, yes the pic set caused confusion over the armor color for years but... armor looks light grey, boots slightly darker bluish grey like hoses, webbing silvery grey, jumpsuit slightly darker grey and the gloves... well... let's call them sorta-kinda-comparably-in-context... white. Or off-white, or such a light grey they appear white.:lol

Are you really going to split hairs? Is off-white really light gray? Really? The welding gloves are the closest match that has been found so far and they are not white. Do you really think I was saying they should be as gray as the suit? You cannot go off the photos for color matching at all. If the armor is really gray and looks white in the photo, how can you say bluish gray or silver gray just by looking at that one photo?

The only thing the discovery of the helmet did was cement the fact that they weren't white. Would you care to tell me what all those bits and bobs on the armor are sourced from? Or what brand of moon boots those are? What type of hoses? Straps? That is where research comes into play. And people like myself have been doing it for years.

Well I'm glad the Sideshow gloves aren't accurate to that pic.

I'll swap over to these, they look grey-ish to me and have really defined ribs. Perfect for LFL's new ownership too. ;)

First off I really like this figure, and would love to have it....but at $220 plus shipping? I have the Hasbro figure that I paid $20 for, so I ask the question..."Is this figure 11 times better?" Reading this thread I saw some great pictures early on where elements of the Marmit and the Hasbro were combined and it looked pretty darn good. Given that the Marmit is still available in the low $100 range I wonder if the bash is the better option? You would be $80-100 better off in the pocket book.

"Is this figure 11 times better?"

Can't answer that because the figure isn't out yet. But it LOOKS 100x better. I also have a Marmit and I plan to display them together - my Hasbro stuff lives on its own and doesn't co-mingle with modern higher-end 1/6 figures.

No, its not 11 times better IMHO, but collectors/buyers will be the ones to justify that price tag.

The biggest issue with the Hasbro figures is the bodies suck. Some of the uniforms, gear, and weapons are very usable in my opinion.

I agree it's tough since the figure isn't out, but I'd love to see your side by side with the Marmit.

Hopefully by the time this SSC ships I'l have assembled my Marmit. ;) I also have two Stormtroopers and a Sandtrooper to build.
