Does the Sideshow King Kong armature tend to get very loose, to where it cannot stand up? I imagine it can be tightened, but am not that familiar with the item. Any info would be appreciated.

It's not so much a question of getting"loose" as the materials it's made from. Most of the limb sections are cast in what I believe is"white metal", a tin -lead alloy.Unfortunately, this material has a rather low strength to weight rativer time the sections bend, so the joints loosen and the figure sags.I keep mine in a "4 point"pose;not as impressive as standing tall, but much safer(he damn near brained my wife once when he collapsed and pitched forward off the shelf). The only way I can see to resolve the problem would be replacing the long limb sections with a sturdier material, like machined alluminum.Haven't checked into the actual cost, but I imagine it would be pricey...PS
Please don't get me wrong;this IS my Grail piece, as it is for any Kong fan.The joints are designed to be tightened as needed;a wrench is even provided with the figure. Is it perfect...no. Am I glad I purchased it?Hell yeah!.You just have to be aware of, and willing to accommodate it's limitations...PS
Low number from the run-#46 of 500.Hell, mine's #133!Be interesting to see who gets it...PS
yes the joints can be tightened. I did mine on a few occasions.
Just don't over do it.
Don't try to make a stop-motion animation with him.
Its fairly easy to tighten everything and maybe place one hand down to help for balance and to help support the other joints from carrying all the weight.
IMO one thing to be aware of more than the joints is scratches on the base. It is very easily scratched by the armature....

Now a second one has shown up, for a rather steep price($2500!). The new one is #126;#46 is up to a grand(so glad I got mine early)...PS
