Hi guys I've been lurking on these pages for quite sometime and I started collecting sideshow last May 2009 just after I decided to quit smoking. My doctor told me to get my mind off the cigarette addiction and find an alternative. I haven't had any since then and been gaining a lot of statues and collectibles. It was GI Joe 12" that got me into this. Now my so called "lines" are all the 12 inch Joe's, All marvel LSB , Premium Formats , Marvel, and now starting with Street Fighter and other character I like plus Maquettes. But its the 1:1 bust of sideshow that blew me away on the details and lifelikeness.

I have acquired a few pieces and still expecting some more being shipped in to Philippines.

So far my collections are not yet as beautiful and comprehensive as most of you guys have. I do plan to post my pieces by May 2010 which marks my first year in quitting smoking and 1 year in sideshow collecting ,thus the cabinets will be done by that time. Do wish me luck!

Welcome to the Freakshow Mannequin.
I'm looking forward to seeing your collection and congrats on quiting
the cigarettes, I know personaly that it ain't easy. It will be one
year also for me on April 5th.

Sounds like you've got quite the collection, Mannequin. Congrats on quitting smoking and welcome to the forum! :duff

Welcome aboard, man:) Wise decision in quitting cigarettes. I quit 3 years ago (cold turkey), and haven't looked back or missed it one bit. In fact, I'm enjoying the extra money I can spend on collectibles on a monthly basis that I would previously smoke away;)

Congrats on quitting smoking... so now you'll live longer, but the debt you will incur will follow you until you croak :lol

I was just thinking that not smoking can really save thousands of dollars over the course of a year. I used to smoke about a pack a day when I was younger... that'd be a nearly $2,000 a year habit now :google

Better to pump it into Sideshow! :rock

To all you guys who has done it, to those who are doing it, and to those who gave their support on the board. Thank you.I need a support community or group and honestly I think I felt you guys just gave me a booster! Thus the assurance that quitting smoking is one of the best choice I made last year. I am a heavy smoker 1 1/2 packs a day when I am work easy and I always go for the hard stuff Marlboro Reds! Secondly I found my second best choice last year, collecting sideshow it was. The thrill and the excitement and feeling of hunting down collectibles is a head rush, not to mention PPO and Ebay bidding. Anyway as I have said I will be posting my collections by May 2010 to celebrate my 1st year of freedom from cigarettes! My storage room is getting filled with these stuff! Just a glimpse to all those who follows this thread... :chew:
