Sideshow Premium Format Sample pieces

I've been seeing a few Premium Format figures out there, that are samples, not numbered. I just wanted to know what's the deal with those pieces. Are they authentic? Are they worth buying? Figured you guys could help answer this questions... Thanks

Sideshow do produce unnumbered samples.

I have a few. I like them more than the regular numbered ones, just seems a bit more special to me plus they were probably among the first off the line and have the best chance of good paint app and crisp casting.
