Same. Yay pop-up blocker! :lol

I also use headphones that I only plug in when I actually WANT to hear something so sound wouldn't be a problem even if the ad did pop up for me.

It's almost as annoying as the floating Michael Jackson we had to put up with during Spooktacular. Shamone!

It's annoying for one good reason, you can't vote in the poll on the bottom right of the homepage without closing the bar/ad/thing.

I hate ANY pop up ads or any ad period that initiates audio without being prompted .... :monkey1

Sound on a web site is about as intrusive as it gets. Not to mention very 90's. Hate it.

To be fair, I only had to turn it off once and I haven't seen it again. Still stupid though.

very true.
I recall the first couple sites I design I put in sound on the front page and on buttons. Years later I went back to see those old designs and thought "What was I thinking?" :lol

I stopped going to ToyNewsI because of the obtrusive nature of pop ups with sound. I think that they have gotten away from them, but it is really intrusive. I closed the SS one the first time I went and I haven't seen it since, but I only go over there on Thursdays generally.

I don't mind the idea, but I wish there was some option to turn it off once you've seen it so it doesn't reload every time you visit the page. I view SC from several different computers on our network and it's getting real annoying.

It was alright but I closed it. I wouldn't consider it a pop-up ad though since it is embedded in the page. Or you could call it a new aged popup since most traditional popups are separate windows. As long as you can easily turn it off it isn't a big deal to me.
