i 'liked' on FB the hot toys, hot toys community and action city pages. when they make new HT product announcements, they put those up immediately. one interesting thing is they put the ON-SALE date for the figure as well, so people know when to order.

WHY doesn't sideshow do this too so people can have a heads up and to make sure to be available? several times a day i've checked their website and my email to order several figures. and sure enough when i am not near my computer, i somehow miss when it goes on sale. i think the system they have in place is VERY unfriendly to the busy collector. they may think it's a good marketing ploy to get people to constantly check their website so maybe you'll buy something else, but i think it's a disservice to those with limited time or limited internet access.

we WANT to buy hot toys sideshow, that's been established. just let us know when for god's sake!

as i mentioned, checking my email several times a day is not prudent. thanks for your suggestion of closing the thread but it was not helpful. it was rude though, so you've got that going for you. :slap

Not to come across as a smartass but you don't have time to check your emails but ironically have the time to check FB?
Sideshow always mentions in the newsletter the date when a previewed product is meant to go up for sale.

The forum also can keep you updated. :peace:

With all the smart-assed answers aside - We all ( or apparently not all :slap ) know how many times people got frustrated with items being put up for sale without notice, and sell out in an hour, so the OP does have a valid point. SS advertisement technique improvements are much to be desired.

i may check both several times a day if i'm at the computer. point is i'm not always near the availability of the internet. if i knew when they are going on sale, i would make myself available or make another arrangement. right now i have at least five different figures i'd like to order that hot toys has posted sale dates in honk kong on FB, yet sideshow posts nothing of a sale date for any but we know they are coming sometime in the near future. can you tell me when these go on sale at sideshow?

Iron Man 3: Tony Stark (Mandarin Mansion Assault Version)
The Crow: Eric Draven
Iron Man 3 - Silver Centurion (Mark XXXIII)
Captain America (Star Spangled Man Version)
Superman (Evil Version) Collectible Figure

i never saw the exact dates hot toys figures go on sale in the newsletter. can you point me there?

Who cares they don't sell out for ages anyway. :dunno

exclusive versions for many desirable figures sell out right away because their allotments are limited. so as an avid hot toys collector, i care. that's why i started the thread.

I don't the dates that these will go on sale and I can safely say that even Sideshow doesn't know when HT will give them the go-ahead. I don't rely on SS's facebook updates since they aren't actual updates; being put up only some time after the product has actually gone up for PO.

so you agree that ordering dates should be posted in advance? after talking to ss alex in the thread, i'm realizing their website cannot handle the traffic and that's why PPOs have been suspended indefinitely.

another request/suggestion to SS.....

please match the email invoice to the charge. i looked at the MVII invoice and it read that the charge was $249.99. the deposit amount was not deducted from the total but it did read it was included. my credit card however was correctly charged minus the NRD ($224.99) but i didn't know that until i checked my card online. it would be great if that jived. thanks!!!

Yes. I do agree that knowing the sale date in advance helps in securing our order to a great extent. And they've done it too. For instance, I got the email for the Mark VII BD figure saying it'll go on sale on xxxday. What it didn't mention however, is the time. I'd no interest in the figure at the time else i'd have been glued to my computer/phone all day, all night.
PPO was phased out long time back, I believe. Haven't ever PPO'd anything.

you got an email saying it was going on sale at the definite date? i and many others received the email after it sold out, even though i was not available to order anyway. i was out for dinner on friday evening on the east coast. by the time i got back, it was sold out. received the email from sideshow at 1am and it was sent 5pm ET. the wave of emails that included mine was sent about 8 hours after it went on sale.

if i remember the same thing happened with the MVI promo as far as the email arriving late. i was able to secure one though with a heads up from another collector many hours before the email arrived.
