Well, last Tuesday I had an interview for a Business Ed job here in my local home town school district. Well, I've been pretty nervous since then waiting for the next school board meeting to find out if I got the job. Tonight was the night of the next school board meeting and needless to say I was getting even more nervous. About 8:45 CST the principal of the new Intermediate School called me and asked me if I would like to take the job. Needless to say I said "yes" and starting next school year I will be teaching Business Ed to 5-6 graders here in my hometown. I'm happier than I could possibly imagine to have a chance to make a difference in my hometown. It's not a big deal in the scope of all that happens in your alls life but I wanted to share this great moment with you.

Yes, SS you will get a lot of those paychecks too. :) :p

Hey, congrats Josh! :fireworks

Just think folks - Josh will molding the little minds of the future!!!:google

Bravo, teaching is one of the most if not the most important profession a person can go in to. The rewards can be few and far between, but I have no doubt that your students will look on you with high regard. Congrats and best wishes Josh.

Ahhh very good Josh. It is so good for your well being and self esteem to have a job. So close to home is even better. Tell me, what is the business model according to LotR.

I reckon a banana will help you. You do still remember how to do the banana don't you, or have you progressed to the robot? :banana

Congratulations, Josh! Anything career related is a big deal in life, and getting a job offer in an important and meaningful field is pretty important, in my opinion. Nice job! I'm sure you will do well next year, and as you make a positive difference in the lives of your students over the years, I think you'll be surprised at the impact this day will have had on many lives. Congrats again and thanks for sharing the news with us! (And if there is a raise that goes along with this new position, then I'm sure the folks at Sideshow will be twice as excited as the rest of us!) This calls for some smilies...

Excellent! You should definitely be proud. Teaching is a very under-rated profession. I can't name one actor or rock star that made an impact on my life the way some of my teachers did. Congratulations.

Will you allow toys in class?

Thnx all!!

Thanks! I really enjoy teaching and being able to give back that which I was given by my teachers.

Thnx Tom :peace I hope I live up to as I said the expectations for myself and that those around me have for me. Well, it's my first "real" job so it's kind of a big raise. All this money I've been spending with SS, Bob, Adam, etc has all been subbing and coaching. So I can really go hog wild now. :) :wacky

Thnx!! I love the profession and I couldn't be happier with the path I choose.

Allowing toys in class? Well, do mine count? :p

Thats very cool. I never had any type of business ed class in 5th or 6th grade... what a rip off, I would have enjoyed that.
