Soosootoys Watchmen (2009) line - news and group shots

How awesome would an entire line of 1/6 figures at the quality level of Hot Toys be? Either as inspired from the graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, or the 2008 Zack Snyder film. Hell, I’d buy both.

I watched this video today and it reminded me yet again just how great Watchmen is:



I’m aware that Soosootoys makes a Rorschach. But can you imagine on your shelf a Hot Toys quality set of Rorschach, Nite Owl, Silk Specter, Ozymandias, the Comedian, and Doctor Manhattan?

unlike hot toys soosootoys is invested in the brand, they are planing to do the comedian next.

The overcoat for Soosoo Rorschach looks a bit too pleather-y for my taste. I’d like to see a more natural look to the fabric, hopefully a third party company will make one.

SooSoo said they are looking into changing the jacket material when the figure was announced. It's a hard material to get right so not sure what they're gonna go with. I believe the film used some sort of waxed cotton. Not sure if that's something they can achieve perfectly in 1/6.

I'd probably stop at Rorschach and Comedian, that would be enough to represent Watchmen on my shelf, but it would be cool to see the whole main lineup made.

I’ve been rereading the novel, taking in the motion comic, and watching analysis videos.

I’ll soon be doing a rewatch (Ultimate Cut) so I’ll find out soon enough, but did Snyder feature any scenes of Comedian wearing the bondage mask that he sometimes has in the book?

Custom reportedly by Jacob Rahmier on FB (can’t find the post for this on his TL, though). The Phicen body may be just a tad more musclebound than in the film, but that’s pretty darn close.

This one is fairly expensive now on the aftermarket, but I’m guessing he can probably be bought for around $300-ish.

The maniacal creepy evil grin is pretty accurate to the film albeit a bit over the top in execution imo. But a custom designed head sculpt is always an option.

Yeah I’ll bet especially so if the figure was dynamically posed.

All the more reason to hope that Soosoo makes Comedian. Here’s a pic of the prototype that they posted:

I commented on the head sculpt in the thread for this figure. I’m sure there will be a masked head sculpt as well.

For this line I’m excited to see this. I want the whole Watchmen lineup.
