red-blue spidey is one of the best looking to date. and for the price, it's hard to pass.

You are the picture master. I am a bit disappointed we don't see the mesh in his costume like we did in the movie and even in the Venom statue. The base is amazing! As is the pose! Had they also applied the mesh I may have been sold on this statue. That Venom.. so tempted to get it. Must free up funds. *drools*

Anyway, I have other things I need to get first.. like a Spike PF.

Thanks Eli. Ya, I agree on the lack of the honeycomb-style pattern in the suit, but it can be looked passed. I really love the silver webbing, and while the film material is tricky for collectibles to reproduce, I love the silver look Sideshow and Hasbro have used for it. I was torn between the statue and the mini bust, and ultimately I picked this because of the pose; I like the statue pose much more than the mini bust pose. The base, while minimal, is very well done. One thing that I'm constantly impressed with from Sideshow is there ability to turn polystone into a believable representation of other materials. The building corner really looks like the style of rock that you see in that type of architecture, and you'd swear the bricks were real brick. Very well done. Incase anyone wonders, it's two pieces, Spidey rests onto the base via a metal pin that goes into the lion head.

Probably the ex since he comes with the two heads. What does a regular go for nowadays anyway?

I have no idea honestly. Probably not much though. I don't even know how much the exclusives are selling for but I do know that it's a great statue. :rock

I just checked ebay and there hasn't been a Spike PF sold in a while. Looks like they all went to permanent homes. Weird.

Well, he is a nice looking PF.

Also, unlike a lot of other collectibles (mainly Marvel and Star Wars)... most people bought these with the idea they wanted to keep it. The sculpt, pose, costuming, execution of the statue is nicely done. Having said that, it's common knowledge these were not purchase to resell for higher than what you paid. These took forever to sell out. Infact, it made "Second Chance" status twice.

Granted we'll see some pop up because people may have had buyers remorse. Need to catch up with some debts. Or simply purchased it with the idea they wanted to just have it in hand for a while and their needs were fulfilled.

Those are my thoughts anyway. hehe

MaulFan pretty much covered it! It also think it's a great piece and a really dynamic pose as well.

The ONLY flaw...the spider on his chest. Sideshow's factory forgot to paint it black...so it's silver...I notice it's silver on your's too Maulfan. To be honest, I really don't understand how obvious mistakes like that are not picked out by quality control.

Well, I don't think it's a Q.C. slip since the proto was painted in the same manner, so we did get what we ordered; it really comes down to a design choice I'd guess. Considering how the black spider looks on the bust here, I actually prefer that it's silver on the statue. In the movies, the difference was fairly subtle.

Fair enough buddy! :D

I'm a big Spidey fan for a long time and that chest symbol has ALWAYS been black, even in the movies...so I am leaning that it was an error somewhere along the Sideshow chain all the way to the factory.

My only taste of Spidey has been the films, so the metallic look of the webbing is the critical part for me, and was the dissappointment with the lack of it in the RAH figure, but quite happy with this statue.

You sure Maulfan?

Sure looks black to me on this (and all the other) proto picture(s):

You're right NC, guess I should have looked at the whole gallery, the image I looked at full view was on an angle where I thought it was the shadows affecting it, not the paint apps, so it appears it is a slip somewhere along the way. I'm personally glad for it, but can understand those who are let down by it.
