Good!

They should get Singer off that Franchise as soon as possible.

Any changes that he made or story points that were mooted were pathetic.

Case in point - check out the Scrabble board at the beginning of the movie. Supes' 'we're not the same as everyone else, we're different' to Jason and other flagrant pink propaganda running through the film.

Yes, we understand that you are gay Bryan. Now show me another trick.

Routh was a godsend in that role in a weak film.

Give me another director and a Robot Brainiac to go.

^^^i agree with abstract. i could care less if they don't make a sequel. i hated SR and thought that it was an insult to the originals and that singer changed too much.

Lame. I was hoping to get a new movie with a monster villain. I liked Superman Returns, but I hope they can ween Supes from the movie lore and dip into some of comic book stories for the next one.

As for gay propaganda, that either went waaaaaaay over my head, or you're looking into things too much. The theme of the movie was Supes feeling like an outcast. He's an alien, not gay. I think you're seeing things that either aren't there, or are a little too sensitive on the subject.

Superman Returns was an awesome movie to me. Could it have been better? Sure it could, as in everything else in this world. even the original superman movies could have been better.

as if 2009 wasnt already long enough, i dont understand why they'd think of "delays" this soon.

I liked SR in general and felt that Brandon Routh was perfect for the role. Personally Singer did an alright job but I felt his pay homage was more like a "remake" in disguise. Personally I say boot Singer and bring in another director, heck give it to Donner and let him run with it, if they waste Routh it'll be a crime against the character for sure, I haven't seen an actor take up a new role that so successfully ties the older audience to the new incoming one. WB would have/should have known that the lack of actual action would make SR mixed amongst fans, look at the Hulk it was the same argument. I think SR will have a sequel, I think it'll be more action packed and I think if WB is smart they'll 86 Singer and get the film on the fast track to the theaters.

So were the X-Movies... and Apt Pupil.

'Have you ever tried NOT being a Mutant?' is one cringeworthy line for example.

He's a one trick pony. You don't get other gay directors (of which there are many) shovelling so much overtly homosexual subtext into their entire body of work as Singer manages to squeeze into any one of his movies.

Seriously though, pause the DVD and check out the scrabble board.

Pathetic!

I liked Superman Returns, but I really think they should ditch Singer, keep Routh and start over from scratch. Leave the Donner continuity, and Superman's ******* love child, behind.

I don't mind Superkid if they kill him. It'll provide angst and test the limits of Superman's "humanity". My choice of death? Bizarro. If they do the clone thing from STAS where Bizarro is created because Kryptonian blood is too complex to be cloned by our technology, they could have "Superman" before he reverts and degenerates into Bizarro kill Jason right in front of Lois, once he reverts its saves Supes from looking like a killer but then would plaque him because there is a part of him that is capable of this kind of action, the internal angst would be great on screen and I can imagine Jason being buried in the Fortress of Solitude only there for Supes to reflect on every once in a while never to be seen from again.

I agree about Singer, his agenda is obvious in his films, some more blantant than others but its there.

I Liked SR a lot but i don't care if singer comes back or not i just want a sequel.

And yes abstract singer does like to deal with the gay thing...it was more obvious in the x-men movies to me though.(still a good director but christ commit all the way damnit!)

"I just know that in the next film there will be a lot of action and I'm gonna get to fight something, or someone. An enemy with real physical power might be worked in there, definitely

I'm hoping for some Doomsday action, or even some Bizzaro. NO GENERAL ZOD !!!!! They already copied the first movie into Superman Returns, I want some original stuff

Variety reported this yesterday and the superman homepage mentioned it. They then found out this is false and that Warner Brothers and Bryan Singer are still planning on starting filming for the sequal in March 2008. Either way I say give Singer the boot, he wasnt as bad as say Tim Burton would have been but his Superman Returns was just a weak version of a new Richard Donner superman. If he uses Zod in the next film he truly doesnt have an original idea in his head. I dont think WB would sign a contract with him and then let the movie get delayed.

You sure? superherohype.com is reporting it as well now.(i hope so)

And singer said he wouldnt use zod in a sequel but he would "go all wrath of kahn on it"(aka action)

https://www.supermanhomepage.com/news.php

just go down a bit its there. There are pretty much the unoffical offical Superman page. I trust them more then IGN and Superheorhype combined when it comes to Superman news. And I know what Singer said but what he does is a while other thing.

Here this should be the direct link. https://www.supermanhomepage.com/news.php?readmore=3269

Variety never actually got confirmation from Warner or Singer they simply assumed the movie would get delayed.

Cool thanks gotta bookmark that page.

how do you like the donner cut serp? gonna grab it this weekend.

I've said from the beginning that the whole reprising Donner was a mistake. Singer's a great director, but this direction was a poor choice.

And the gay thing, I really don't see it. Generic "outcast" comments apply to Superman and mutants and don't automatically mean "gay."

I'd like to see Singer off the project, bring back Abrams and keep Routh.

Or dump the SR continuity completely and make a huge budget movie with the Smallville cast and continuity since the series has to end next year.

Jason dying isn't a bad idea, or he could become Bizarro himself.

Sweet!I wonder if it's out on blu-ray since i got a ps3 now.Well if that news is true bring on 2009 cause i liked SR (to much saving lois **** again and just lois in general) And i know it was basically a set up and the next one will be intense.
