SS EPII Obi Wan

Its the beard and the eye brows that I am really hating on (and of course the doll dot SS is so affectionate about keeping )

The beard, hair and eyebrows look to have a similar, but darker, paint application to ROTS Obi Wan.

I quite like the shading on the beard, from the base if his chin to his mouth, how it gets lighter, but it is a little rough around the edges, ain't it? One of the eyes looks off to me as well.

Don't think you'll be too disappointed...i'm not. In fact I can't wait to get him after seeing the photos! We're just going off one photo here. Will make my final judgment when I see more in hand pics.

My wife went to the site and sent the image to me directly.
Could this actually be the finished product? I thought it was going to be the same head as the clone Kenobi.

I can't say as though I'm feeling confidant about this image.

None of those pics are of anybody actually holding the figure. Again, promo shots. Nothing more. What's more, you'd think they'd have him on the front page of their website if he was newly up for sale.

Guess you are not familiar with Xl-Shop website. It is their policy to post pics of the ACTUAL product in their forum once they arrive.

The product is also listed on the front page of their website for sale. Not sure how you missed that.

And you know what, I will take the time and trouble to actually go take a pic of me holding the box just so this matter can be put to rest. Whether you like to or not, this item is out.

I am assuming this pic was taken with flash because the paint looks like crap:

It was taken with a soft light as the key light. No flash. This is as accurate a presentation of the actual products as it gets.

Well the outfit is "new", as in new material. Fantastically matched though. Boots are new. Saber, belt, and accessories are rehashes. I really want to grab a second Clone Obi head though and just pop this on the Pro. Should Obi Wan be a standard 12 inches or shorter?

Looks good to me. I agree with Pix the whole Q2 thing seemed odd. I mean its bits and pieces from others so it shouldn't take nearly as long.

I bet they're holding him back in the states because of the Christmas season. They have probably seen a massive number of cancellations and are trying to space them out a little especially with Stormtroopers coming soon and many people having multiple quantities on order.
I'm betting the Asian market isn't as big on the Christmas holiday as the west is.

They already had the patterns for the robes, they just needed a different color fabric. The boots are the old boots with the straps added to the top, so while they needed to make new molds, the sculpting wasn't from scratch, just a modification. This is one of the easiest figures they have ever done to get it to market, for which I am happy about.

Maybe I'm in the vast minority but this thing looks nothing like the promo pics or the Clonobi head. I was really hoping for that head with this outfit. What I saw sitting in the box was very weak. And as for shipping early, again, I had planned on spring.

Hoping this thing will sit for now.

Well you're correct in the appearance. The head in the promos was a skillfully hand painted prototype, this is a produciton piece, and being different materials, I imagine was painted by different people than Clonobi, so it'll look different.

If that's the case though, there should be options to get in on first or second shipment, or some sort of public announcement regarding the new practice so we at least understand what's going on.
