Well you're correct in the appearance. The head in the promos was a skillfully hand painted prototype, this is a produciton piece, and being different materials, I imagine was painted by different people than Clonobi, so it'll look different.

If this is how it will look in hand, it's a disappointment.

So I was just comparing and the Pro without any kind of feet.. far too short. So are there any adapters or anything that would give the naked Pro feet and make up the missing inch or so? Can the HT feet be adapted? I really think I may get the Clone Obi head and put him on the Pro.

I might be in the minority, but I think the paint app looks pretty damn good for a Sideshow release. It is certainly a better production paint job than Indy's blank stare and chin strap beard which I had to wipe away with acetone the day I received it.

I called Sideshow directly and the person I spoke with expressed extreme skepticism that this was legit; being that this piece just went into production and they don't expect the finished product for a few months.

They suggested contacting this site directly and asking for a shot of Sideshow's official item number on the box to verify.

I told her the sculpt looked inferior, my opinion only.

I agree the paint apps look good but I'm usually pretty happy with the production paint apps. My Indy was pretty solid.

Well then the paint looks inferior, either way I hope this is a B.S. pic.

Memnoch is right. Its the same sculpt. Just goes to show you that paintapps are just as important as a good sculpt. Without the right paint apps a good sculpt is useless.

Unless someone went through the trouble of commissioning a headsculpt, doing a complete custom outfit AND doing the box with it's unique figure tray - it IS legit. Just a question of what exactly is going on here..

Unless someone snuck out production samples or something.

I hope this isn't the actual production peice (but I'm betting it probably is). Looks like the face is painted flesh tone rather than flesh tone cast plastic like the CW Obi-Wan. I'm glad they went without the eye liner this time, but the hair and beard are poorly done. I'll be very disappointed in this one if this pic is the actual production piece we'll be getting. Just another example of how a crappy paint job can really screw-up a great sculpt.

Honestly, who here REALLY thinks a SS rep would say, "Oh yes, the regular figure will be released in Asia ONLY a full 4 months ahead of our own release date because that dart is a ^^^^^ to make". Deny deny deny, that's what I would do.

Some of the Indy's on here looked okay. But mine had long brown lines that looked like a straggly chin strap beard. It looked nothing like 3 day stubble.

The Obiwan sculpt looks identical and it is identical. Maybe some of you aren't used to it because it has painted skin.

I thought the same thing. If that's a SS production paint apps then I think it looks fine. I can see where some of the diaappointment is coming from if people expected cast skin tone though.
