The Obiwan sculpt looks identical and it is identical. Maybe some of you aren't used to it because it has painted skin.

That hadn't occured to me. I was expecting the new HT style of paintapps. It hadn't occured to me that since this was on a buck-style head the paint apps would fall back to ye olde style.

Official word would be nice but, bar Dusty doing some serious digging and someone likely getting fired or some sort of reprimand, I don't think we will hear anything. Thus why I ordered one, just to see if this is legit.

Well, as nice as Gandalf came out, he doesn't seem quite flesh cast as Obi-Wan and the Hobbits, but he was a Buck.

I'm still waiting on official word these guys are legitimately offering this figure before investing too much into how it looks.

Gandalf is on an HT style head though if I remember hearing right. So I am pretty sure his skin was cast in flesh tone.

Hard to say. Indy feels like he was made in resin not soft rubber, his heads are quite solid and heavy, so no telling what these are made of, bit of inconsistency over the last few releases. Gandalf could just be really nicely painted skin. It just doesn't feel cast like the others, and there's tonality which so far the fleshtone cast heads have not had.

I don't know what this means, as i've never used Forbiddenplanet.co.uk before, but the figure has gone from a "pre-order" to a "special"

https://www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk/#...earchMode=term&pagerPage=1&pagerTotalItems=50

And on this page, doesn't specify the usual "Pre order item - expected delivery to our warehouse 30.12.08"

https://www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=49434

Play.com still have him up for pre order, dating the 30th of this month.

https://www.play.com/Gadgets/Gadget...isode-2-12-Obi-Wan-Kenobi-Figure/Product.html

The forbiddenplanet.com page hasn't changed.

the co.uk is the one I get some Doctor Who stuff from and they are actually usually BEHIND. Could it be that this is actually out and artificially delayed for the US?

So I was just comparing and the Pro without any kind of feet.. far too short. So are there any adapters or anything that would give the naked Pro feet and make up the missing inch or so? Can the HT feet be adapted? I really think I may get the Clone Obi head and put him on the Pro.

the balls that are the ankles of the Pro body end in plugs that are IDENTICLE to the pegs on the buck that go into the feet on the buck body. Just boil and pop and you can pull the feet off the buck, and put them on the pro.

Unfortunately, No it's not. Gandalf is a sideshow "sculpted neck" style head. You don't see the neck becuase of the beard, but his head is cast in the beard color plastic. so the skintone on his face IS paint. That, or sideshow botyhered to paint the underside of his beard which is possible I soppose.
Wait, Ammend that, I'm looking a bit closer at the head, and they DID paint the underside of his beard. Freaky, and an odd use of paint. Ok, so they did cast him in flesh colord plastic. But it's NOT a hot toys style head. He's just got a sculpted beard as opposed to a sculpted neck :lol

Most of the indy bodsies i've seen for sale have the bootfeet as part of the body, with toyanxiety being the exception. Another option is to use hot toys feet, and fill the hole in them with hot glue, then press in the indy feet, but I'd rather not modify something like that if you do not need to.

Guess you are not familiar with Xl-Shop website. It is their policy to post pics of the ACTUAL product in their forum once they arrive. The product is also listed on the front page of their website for sale. Not sure how you missed that.

:huh

I called Sideshow directly and the person I spoke with expressed extreme skepticism that this was legit; being that this piece just went into production and they don't expect the finished product for a few months. They suggested contacting this site directly and asking for a shot of Sideshow's official item number on the box to verify. I told her the sculpt looked inferior, my opinion only.

That's a good idea and I'm waiting for a return email.

And you know what, I will take the time and trouble to actually go take a pic of me holding the box just so this matter can be put to rest. Whether you like to or not, this item is out.

Hey, Trigger, I'm all for being proven wrong about this. But you also have to consider the skepticism regarding the pics. Just because someone has photos, doesn't mean the item's there or even in stock. Additionally, all the text on the box is blurred and there's no item number. You saw the Snake Eyes photo, complete and boxed. Yet he's not available until next year. I'll be waiting to see you with pics of the actual action figure in hand. I'm certain the store would allow that considering they'd most likely sell well due to the many impatient Star Wars fans. :lol

Ok guys, confirmation, this is 100% legit and that is the final product.

From Sideshow CS.

Thank you for your e-mail to our Customer Service Department. Your feedback
is important to us and we appreciate that you took the time to reach us.

Some of our international distributors did take possession of the product a
bit early due to the holiday season to avoid potential cargo issues around
this season.

Although our site does say second quarter we anticipate being able to
deliver this item a bit earlier to our collectors once we receive it
stateside!

Please let me know if I can assist you further!

Best regards
