Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

Yeah the shoes do look a bit 'sneaker'-ish, agreed.

I'm not sure what you mean about the joints you want exactly, but with the extra feet included in the newer sets, that at least gives you better posing options. :)

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

Yup! Plus, the Chuck Tailor look of the feet always bothers me. I know they had to make and executive decision based on the non physicality of the digital model, but I always thought the feet should be 3/4 boots with a universal dog bone joint. That would make these things absolutely perfect to me.

Agree 100%. This is a big deal for me. The ankle joint sticks and is the reason I am cooling off on sideshow.

Well, a universal, double male end, dog bone that fit into two female rockers would give you full movement without having to reposition the ball so the peg moves either front/back or side/side. If the joint were a ball peg on both ends that was seated: one part in the shoe/boot and the other in the leg, you'd have free movement at all times. Hot Toys does this on SOME of their figures and the Medicom troopers and Fetts have this articulation set up as well.
Hope that makes sense, bro.

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

All, I haven’t read the last 50 pages but are these new clones meant to have better quality weathering?

I ask as, I’m not really into 1/6th clones as the sole 1/6 clone I do have (Coruscant) has weathering that I would describe as distinctly, umm, ***** and way removed from what was promised in the promo pics.

These new Sideshow Deluxe clone pics on their site look pretty cool (e.g Veteran trooper), but is it a bait and switch again?

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

You won't know until the figures have been released. That said, the Veteran looks like digital printing in the promos, so I can't image it looking any different in production.

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

Several of the figures on display at Comic Con had the factory paint, I don't remember if that was true for the deluxes as well. Check the video a few pages back, it's mentioned there.

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

Thanks, I mean I'm in if they look like the shots on the site, that's a nice level of detail.

However, looking at the SDCC pics and comparing em to the website versions there is noticeably worse weathering, which is particularly noticeable around the helmet. Better than a normal SS clone but still falls short of what's being promoted.

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

I just noticed that SSC will let you order up to 20 of these guys for a cool $2,799.99. :lol

If you order more than 20 from an online dealer...they give you a better price...but SS only lets you order 6 of the 212!

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

Oh i see... how are the fabrics doing on the recent figures? Do you guys experience bleedings that cause stains?

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

Commander Cody had a stain under his neck from the fabric suit reports a Rebelscum forum member.

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

Ouch! hopefully that wont be the case on this batch and on the upcoming greivous cape. Thanks for the reply guys

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow Battle Droids (Clean, Commander, Security, etc)

I know I am in the wrong thread but is there any for the deluxe clones (veteran, 212th, 501st)? Can anyone tell me if the clones wearing the backpak were actually in the movies?
