I'm looking to get a General Grievous but am torn between getting the SSC PF Grievius or wait for the upcoming release of the SSC 1/6 Grievous. I really want both but money, space and Pre-orders will prevent me from doing that! Which would you guys/gals buy?

by HT Grievous, do you mean Sideshow 1:6 Grievous?

Re: PF Grievous or HT Grievous?

I'd go with the 1:6th figure but it's SS making it not HT. it's as detailed IMO and won't eat up as much display space.

Re: PF Grievous or HT Grievous?

If posability, size and money are non factors then I'd go PF all the way. If those happen to be factors, then yeah I guess it really depends on your preferences.

Re: PF Grievous or HT Grievous?

Depends on the scale you want cause I'm pretty sure the details will be the same cause both are made by SSC. If you want a bigger canvas then go for the PFF but be ready to pay a premuim price of it. Me? I'll go for SSC 1/6th version since it's latest, more affordable & have articulations..and it's 1/6th! :wink1:

Re: PF Grievous or HT Grievous?

definitely 1:6... articulation is everything.

Yeah, I meant SSC 1/6. I love the large scale of the PF. I've pre-ordered the the new SSC 1/6 Boba Fett, Luke DX, Battle Driods. I guess I should stick with the 1/6 scale. Recently i've seen some PF Grievous go for about $450-$500 (ebay). I haven't seen them that low in a while so it got me thinking about going for the Huge Monster!

Wait until the 1/6 figures comes out and then make your decision, the price of the pf might stay around that price with there being a new high end grievous on the market so I wouldn't rush out and buy it now if I were you.

O and best edit your thread title.:wink1:

The 1/6 General will only be $200 too, so that is another thing in his favor. Plus with the droids and others in your collection, that makes the choice for 1/6 even more right.

both are promising. just check your space, if you've room for a great centerpiece, go with the PF, you won't regret it. if all you've got is a space on a detolf, no other option but to go with the 1:6

Re: PF Grievous or HT Grievous?

The 1/6 looks to blow the PF away.

Agreed. I had the PF and it actually isn't that great. From the photos I've seen of the 1/6 it seems far more screen accurate.

I don't think its that easy, I mean even if the 1/6th is slightly more accurate (I'm assuming it's less detailed though due to the size), if you put it next the the PF its still going to look like a miniature plasticy version. Kind of like if you compare a 32" TV with great picture vs a 50" TV with so-so picture, size isn't a non-factor. I mean imagine if the 3 3/4" version really had the hot toys treatment and was just absolutely amazingly detailed, I really don't think people would be quick to say that its the "better" version, due to its inferior size.

You know what they say about assuming ;)

There isn't any reason anymore for 1/4 to be more detailed than 1/6. PFs are outdated dinos right now until they get a rehaul.

I tend to agree. I've got a dozen 1/4 (and i love them) but some of this new 1/6 stuff coming through is amazing.

I have the 1:4 PF and have to tell you it would be hard to top that.

The material they used and the details they gave the PF would be hard to match in the 1:6 with a $200 price restriction.

But time will tell :)
