I mentioned this in the Krugan thread but I'll repeat here. Krugan is shipping via UPS. Is anybody else's also shipping UPS?

I got notice that mine was shipping via FedEx.
Yesterday they delivered my Jedi Luke exclusive and left it on the porch, when heavy rains were scheduled. I rushed home and found the box had been soaked. The figures box wasnt too wet, but still. UPS would always at least leave it between the screen door and front door... and they needed a signature as I remember!

Mine is shipping fedex...I got my fedex shipment notice last night...dont know why yours is going out ups??

In the past, when Fedex has lost my packages, Sideshow has sent replacements via UPS on purpose. When Fedex has just goofed you don't want your replacement sent out by the same hands. Had they ultimately lost my Luke, I would have asked that they send out the replacement via UPS.

They actually used to use UPS, and then switched over to Fedex a year or two ago. If you contact them and request it, they can ship out UPS, I believe.

You are correct sir, I called and asked them to start sending my stuff via UPS and they said they will. Although Luke was sent out via FedEx, so I guess he was already processing and too late for the switchover.

Isn't FedEx more expensive than UPS?

As US residents we get quoted about the same shipping price more or less once our orders are placed. It's actually to their benefit to use UPS if you request it. You are still paying the higher FedEx price and they use a cheaper carrier.

I have so many horror stories with UPS. Is FedEx any better or worse? And, I am like 5 miles from their new digs, are they cool with pick-ups?

They don't trust fans near the SS headquarters after the incident where a few tried to log in directly into the network to steal the Sideshow NOC list with all the Gray Hulks.

They even made a movie about it starring Tom Cruise...that's why they relocated.

They aren't equipped for pick ups and you probably wouldn't get past the attack orcs guarding the front of the building anyway.

And even if you got past the attack orcs you'd still have to face the automated defense turrets.

I heard that sideshow's security system goes into lock down and floods the whole building if they building is breached...

Yeah, and even if you survive that.... I hear that they eliminate stragglers with the Zombies they keep in the basement... THE DEAD LIVE!!! :google

What about a golden ticket style contest? Five collectors get picked to go to Sideshow and meet Willy Wonka, and see how the toys are made. Well, designed, stored, sorted and shipped, but it would kinda be the same idea!

They tried that before. I think we all remember how each of the 5 visitors woke up at the bus station with missing kidneys...

Let's face it, we couldn't withstand the temptation, we'd try to steal a couple prototypes.

SS security: "What's that under your shirt?"
Me: "Nothing."
SS: "It looks like a premium format Darth Maul, I can see the ends of the lightsaber sticking out your sleeves. And is that Boba Fett's gun in your pants or are you just really happy to be here?"
Me: (Waves hand and whispers) You do not see Premium Format figures tucked in my clothing...

Yeah, I've often wondered how long it will be before they give tours and (can't wait) open a gift shop. It's gotta be only a matter of time. Years, okay, but surely before 2016 this'll happen.

Oh, so Mat Falls would be master craftsman Willy Wonka, but who would be the hard working opa-loompas that make the magic happen?
