stan winston custom figure tribute sign up thread ?.

Stan Winston created creatures and monsters from Predator , Alien , Terminator , The thing , Jurassic Park , Pumpkinhead , Friday the 13th ( part 3 ) , wrong Turn , Iron man and many many others.
He brought amazing unbelivable thing which were wrote down on paper alive. I'm sure without this mans work half of us on this very board wouldn't even be in this hobby ( I know I wouldn't ).
Surely after all his work and all the amazing creatures and movies he helped make , after taking so many hours of bordem out of our lives and bringing us such amazing entertainment through his work this man deserves his own figure.

I am hoping we can get enough people together in order to get a custom 1/6 Stan Winston figure head made.
I have contacted Chris Howes and am awaiting a reply from him regarding this project.
Here is some of his past work ( paint by member " Kuato " ).

Chris is busy with other projects at the moment but I am hoping he will agree to sculpt Stan for us.
If we can get ten people together and pay in advance we can get the price to $35.00
If we get 15 people and pay in advance the price drops down to $20.00.

I think the idea of paying in advance is so that Chris can buy the supplies needed to sculpt the head with the money we pay. Looking at his past work , I wouldn't be scared to pay in advance since I am sure this will turn out fantastic.
If you want to pay after the head is created it will cost more.

Now as to how were gonna work out paying for this I'm not yet sure.
I have never took the lead of a little project like this but I have been involved in them. There are a few ways we could do this but thats to discuss once we have everyone signed up who wants to be.

If anyone else feels they could take the lead better let me know and its all up to you !

Does anyone know of any glasses similar to the one he wears ?.
Or should I ask them to be sculpted ?.

I am simply sending this email to ask if you are available to make one at this time ?.

We are interested in getting a custom Stan Winston figure head made. As you may be aware he made many movie monsters and used amazing special effects throughout his career and was a big inspiration to alot of his fans. Sadly he recently passed away and we have all decided we would love a 12" inch figure in memory of the man.

Please confirm if you are able to sculpt this for us and I will let you know the rest of the details.

I would say its likely to be about 20-25 quid in the end.
Thats painted by her too. Just an estimate. She does great great work.

I'm actually hoping someone such as DA or Les will paint mine but its all up to you.

I will update this thread with pics once shes starts so we can decide what we want changing on the sculpt and so on. She will modify it until were happy then go on to cast them.

Dave started a thread on these. The pre made ones are fairly cheap. You can order custom ones too, around $20.

I just got the full price of what a custom head would cost to be made.
Once she has sculpted it , she can make casts which would be sold to us all.

She said the full sculpt including postage and apaint job would be about $230.00.
It sounds alot I know but hopefully once everyone has joined up it will be relatively cheap.
Now I obviously didn't make it clear enough to her in my first message that I wanted a few heads because she included a paintjob and shipping in the price as if I was going to get only one.

Taking this into consideration I would think to get this actually sculpted would be about $200.00 - $210.00.

If this is correct with the people that have joined already if we were to go ahead now it would cost us about $35.00 each.
I would actually be happy to go ahead and pay that but I'm sure in the next week we could get a few more to join up and lower the price even more.

Now the $35.00 estimate is to get the sculpt actually made. I have sent hr another message asking her what the actually casts will cost.

I will be sending out pms to everyone I have on the list to confirm your place.
I don't want her to sculpt it and then I owe her $200.00 alone !.

Ada still hasn't replied with some of the details I wanted but when she does I will let you guys know.


Just to be sure I said before its looking like we owe about $35.00 each so far if everyone on the list was interested ( that at the moment would be six people but some may drop out ). Within a week I am happy to go ahead as long as we have 6 or more but thats up to you.
After this week I will send out some final pms to tell you guys she will be starting the sculpt then we will most likely each have to paypal her.

Then in come the pics of the sculpt which we can change until we are happy with , the she will cast it.
