For Valentine's Day, my daughter's grandmother (my mom) decided to get her a giftcard for Build-A-Bear Worshop. To my surprise, and making my daughter's day, they actually have Star Wars. Yup, ol' Lucas and his merchandising Death Star have found a way to invade even BABW. She was stoked to be able to build out a Rex and of course, ol' dad was more than happy to pitch in for a Vader.

They're relatively reasonably priced at $10-$20 for the bear, $15 for the outfit and $8 for the shoes, so about $40 a pop with tax. Of course, the further experience of sharing Star Wars with the munchkins is priceless. Anyway, just thought I'd share.

If they don't also offer Chewie or Ewoks it's a missed opportunity. (I do love the Vader, though.)

My son (and I) have the Vader and the Jedi outfit that we still need to get a bear for. They're really nice, although I would agree Chewbacca and the Ewoks would seem to be a no-brainer. They do seem to be focusing on the Clone Wars stuff more than the original trilogy though.

That is really cool. I would take my cousin, but he has decided he doesn't like Star Wars anymore. He likes WWE or whatever it is instead. :banghead

That's awesome. Great idea.

Is it lame if a 25 year old goes to build a bear by himself?

Same question, just add a few years.

I won't lie, I was tempted when I was there at the mall the other day. Build a bear is tough though, they make you do silly crap. Just give me my bear, I don't need to make wishes and kiss the heart.

You and Sexy are asking this question on a forum of toy collectors? :lol

No they don't. When the employee asked me to kiss the heart and put it in Vader, I replied, "He's the villain. He doesn't need one." My daughter had my back too, "He's the bad guy, silly!" I thought the employee was gonna cry, but she stuffed him sans heart.

I offered to buy my daughter one of these. She said she would just take the costume off and keep the bear. Obviously, she's now grounded for two weeks.

:lol I'll keep that in mind for next time. Last time when I went to make one for my cousin I had to kiss the heart and make a wish. I felt like a fool.
