The galaxy?s favorite scoundrel, Lando Calrissian, will return in Lando, a brand-new event series for @DisneyPlus. Justin Simien (@JSim07) is in the early stages of developing the project.

So is it the same actor from the movie?

My only concern for all these show is the quality.

Star wars is big budget movie not small screen type of product. Even mandalorian is still small in scope a few good scenes but it's now where near what we are used to.

Normally that would make sense but not with Mando so far especially with S2.

Minus not having a big space battle yet Mando S2 is putting 300 million dollar movies to shame in its grand shots and equal to the ST in effects and this is a TV show.

If they can spread this visual effects quality to their other shows they are at the very least going to look grand.

I'm always of the mind to wait and see. I was a little skeptical about The Mandalorian and look how that turned out. I would have preferred a "Solo & Lando" series with Ehrenreich and Glover, along with Clark for a couple of episodes. A fun, galavanting buddy series that features cool and colorful parts of the SW universe would bring in a different tone and could highlight new worlds and aliens. The movie wasn't terrible, but you could tell it was the victim of excessive studio meddling.

I wish they would have gone with a Solo series instead, but happy to see this too.

I loved the Solo movie and loved all the story threads they started. I still want to see where it all goes.

Part of me is holding out hope that they didn't announce a Solo series because they're still considering movies for him!

My disdain for Solo is well documented, but yes I?d like to see where they go once they run out of fan service and callbacks. The casting is one thing I had no complaints about.

Hopefully this series will explain how Lando went from a progressive idealist who championed droids' rights, and was even intimately involved with one, to a cynical scoundrel who wouldn't give Threepio the time of day.

In a genuinely shocking move, the showrunner is creator of "Dear White People."

Can't wait! ...to start the #notmylando hashtag.:slap:rotfl

It’s early in development, so plenty of time to figure it out. I wouldn’t be surprised if this ended up being a combination of Billy D. Williams Lando going on one last mission, interlaced with with flashback tales featuring Donald Glover Lando. That could be a pretty cool way to wrap up the character and would leave the door open for a “Solo and Lando” series, especially if Ehrenreich and Clark (and Chewbacca) show up in one of the young Lando flashbacks.

Lando didn't want the "golden rod."

It's almost like there wasn't any consideration given in 1980 to whether or not he'd be into humping droids. Go figure. :dunno
